Brian Surewood Booked for Attempted Murder

RESEDA, Calif. — Adult performer Brian Gilbert Barnes, aka Brian Surewood, has been booked on a felony charge of attempted murder after an alleged road rage incident Tuesday afternoon. Barnes is being held at the Van Nuys, Calif., jail on $1.5 million bail.

The crash between Barnes’ vehicle and another car driven by Armando Ayon critically injured a 4-year-old girl, her sibling and her mother. Authorities said the charges could be upped to murder if the child dies. KNBC’s Robert Kovacik reported that the child is in critical condition and on life support.

LAPD Capt. Ronald Marbrey told KNBC that witnesses reported the two cars were “jockeying for position” traveling between 50 and 90 miles per hour on Sherman Way, between Balboa Blvd. and Louise Ave. at 3:12 p.m. Tuesday.

“They were cutting each other off,” Marbrey said. “At one point further down the roadway, the red Camaro slammed on his brakes and the black Nissan barely missed colliding with him.

“Further down the road, here at Amestoy (Ave.), the red Camaro [Barnes' vehicle] applied the brakes hard, the black Nissan {Ayon's vehicle] attempted to avoid a collision and swerved to the right, and collided with a silver Daewoo.”

The Daewoo subsequently slammed into the family, pinning them against another car.

"[The mother] has lost one leg and the other leg is, unfortunately, crushed. They're trying to save that," LAPD officer Jason Lee told the Associated Press.

Surewood has been active in the adult entertainment industry since 1998 and has appeared in more than 1,000 movies, according to IAFD.com.
