New Company Combines Luxury, Sex With Luxotiq Line

COSTA MESA, Calif. — New adult product manufacturer Luxotiq has released a line of minimalist-designed adult toys made of high-grade aluminum, stainless steel and semi-precious stone.

Luxotiq CEO Jake Lam told XBIZ that he was inspired by recent health concerns of lead being found in products manufactured in China — where many adult toys are manufactured — to create a collection of sex toys made from materials that are as safe to use as they are attractive.

"I wanted to move away from plastics," Lam said. "These products are used in surgical procedures so I know they're very safe. I wanted to use higher-quality metals, not cut corners."

And though Lam said he has no prior design training, he believes it works to his advantage that he's not bound by prior rules and experience.

"It just comes to me," he said.

Luxotiq's 8-inch wavy-shaped dildo is made of aircraft-grade aluminum, its 4 3/4-inch anal plug made of solid stainless steel and its strands of anal beads are available made from four different semi-precious stones, including rose quartz, amethyst and obsidian.

"They have a clean look," Lam said. "I let the products speak for themselves."

Lam packages his products in simple pink boxes with ribbon, mimicking the look of luxury jewelry company Tiffany & Co.'s famous blue box, to create a special experience for the customer.

"I think the anticipation of opening the gift is just as gratifying as what's in the box," Lam said.

Lam said his products are available both wholesale as well as individually via the Luxotiq site, and he currently is discussing with retailers both small and large to stock his products.

Lam also said a Luxotiq vibrator is in the works and will be available next year.
