AC/DC band manager Sam Horsburgh said the push to get the band’s domain name back was especially important as younger fans visited the site expecting to see more of their rock heroes.
“The demographic of the band has shifted a lot,” Horsburgh told News.com.au. “The push to get [the site] back came predominantly because they knew there were a lot of younger fans coming through. The young fans are so net savvy it’s the first thing they do. And there was some interesting viewing up there for some time.”
Upon the site’s relaunch, even the band recognized the site’s prior incarnation via a cheeky reference on the homepage, which read “Feel free to visit us from work, school or for longtime visitors to the site, from the usual privacy of your basement.”
Now under its rightful owners, fans can rest assured they will be listening to “Big Balls” instead of seeing them.
