Trannywood Screens Title at Trannyfest

SAN FRANCISCO — Transsexual production company Trannywood Pictures will show a screening of their debut title “Cubbyholes: Trans Men in Action” at San Francisco’s Trannyfest.

Trannyfest events are scheduled throughout the month of November, in various venues in the city. The Film and Video Festival, where Trannywood will screen "Cubbyholes," will take place Nov. 9-10 at the GLBT Center located on Market Street.

Founded in March 2006, Trannywood Pictures was conceived as an experimental project in affiliation with San Francisco’s Eros — the Center for Safe Sex. Since then, the company produced “Cubbyholes,” which has been shown at various queer film fest throughout the U.S and internationally.

They launched a website also, TrannywoodPictures.com, where users can go to view Trannywood products as well as safe-sex advice for female-to-male transsexuals.

“Our films are unique in the marketplace because they include real guys, trans and non-trans, interacting and negotiating safe sex. There are no [magically] appearing condoms in our films and it’s not unusual for gloves or other latex layers to show up,” Trannywood talent coordinator Dex Hardlove said.

“It’s very important that we are able to showcase ‘Cubbyholes’ back in San Francisco and within such a cutting edge arts festival like Trannyfest,” Trannywood’s Ken Rowe said.
