Johnny Castle Named Man of 2007 by Men Magazine

VAN NUYS, Calif. — Adult performer and glamour model Johnny Castle has been named Man of the Year for 2007 by Men magazine. More than 10,000 readers' votes were tallied to give the model top honors in the gay men’s lifestyle publication.

“The Man of the Year competition is almost always a photo finish, so to speak,” Men magazine Editor-in-Chief David Kalmansohn said. “Our top finalists are some of the sexiest, studliest guys in the world. Still, Johnny seemed to stay just ahead of the pack all the way in. He really gives the readers what they want — as you can see from this special issue.”

The magazine is viewable online or in hard copy. Castle will be featured on the cover and in a photo layout in the January issue, along with photos of four runners-up.

Castle’s agent David Forest, of David Forest Entertainment, told XBIZ that, most recently, Castle has been featured in Falcon Studio’s “Hustle and Cruise” and Rascal Video's “Sun-Soaked.”

He also will be appearing at Cupid’s nightclub in West Palm Beach, Fla., for three nightly live shows Nov. 23-24.

He has appeared in numerous print ads and has performed solo-only for gay videos and websites.

“I’m in Pennsylvania visiting family for the holidays. I’m still not believing that I won. I called David [Forest] back three times just in case they had made a mistake. This has really been a great year,” Castle said of the Men magazine honor.

The model also has the rare distinction of working on both the gay and straight sides of the adult industry, appearing in straight tiles when he started his career in the East Coast. He has since worked for several major straight production companies, including Hustler, Wicked, Penthouse, ClubJenna, Playgirl, Shane’s World and Adam & Eve.

Notably, Castle was featured in SexZ Pictures’ blockbuster hit “Corruption” and Tina Tyler’s award-winning “Handyman 2,” a solo series produced for Mercenary Pictures.
