Stockroom.com Unveils Bolero Straitjacket

LOS ANGELES — Specialty fetish manufacturer Stockroom.com has unveiled its latest leather creation — the Bolero Straitjacket. Its design also has been recognized as functional for the medical market and will be made available in both adult and mainstream industries.

Stockroom founder Joel Tucker said the company has applied to patent the Bolero's unique design because it combines creative design with innovative applications across several different industries.

"While we are first and foremost a sex toy company, we are also innovators and are entitled to the same intellectual property protection as any other company," Tucker said.

Stockroom President Mike Herman said that legally protecting the company's designs not only benefits Stockroom, but also its customers.

"[They] will be assured that when they buy a toy or garment with the Stockroom label they are getting hand-crafted, quality products from a first-rate design and manufacturing house, and not a cheap overseas knockoff made with inferior quality control," Herman said.

The Bolero Straitjacket has the functionality of a traditional straitjacket used for restraining psychiatric and other medical patients, but is cropped to leave most of the torso and the chest exposed.

The exposed skin allows for easy access for body examination, monitoring and other medical use, and Tucker said the company plans to release a special version of the Bolero specifically for these purposes.

"Legal protection not only safeguards our business, but also our customers," Stockroom.com President Mike Herman said.

The Bolero Straitjacket is made of high-quality garment leather with latigo straps and belts and strong, secure hardware. The form-fitting cropped style leaves the front exposed with buckles in the back to allow for a tightly cinched fit.

The Bolero retails for $465 and can be purchased both online or at Stockroom's recently opened retail store at 2807 W. Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles.
