“If anything, February’s attendees were overloaded with information,” seminar presenter Paul Interlandi told XBiz. “Their heads were swimming.”
Newcomers learned about distribution, talent mining and shooting professional content on a low budget. Digital Playground’s Jesse Jane was a guest speaker.
Interlandi heads Northridge’s Freedom Distributing, which will be releasing Jacklyn Lick’s directorial debut, the couples’ porn “Home Party Fantasies.” After owning adult retail stores, Interlandi entered the industry as a director in 1992, shooting “Naked” for Western Visuals.
“We stress getting things right the first time,” Interlandi said, recounting how he often receives submissions from producers and directors who might have had large budgets and great lighting but forgot about obscenity laws or 2257 documentation.
According to Interlandi, that is why the “Adult 4 Fun ‘n’ Profit” seminars also feature Greg Picccionelli, a well-known adult industry attorney who specializes in Internet and adult entertainment issues.
“You can never really learn enough about the law in our business,” Interlandi said.
New York’s seminar at the Hotel Pennsylvania immediately follows Erotic Expo NY on May 22. A Los Angeles counterpart will accompany (but is not associated with) Erotic LA in June, in which the seminar will be held at the Entertainium production facility.
