“Palm Springs is a great place to live. I’ve been impressed with the generosity of the community, particularly the leather community,” Daddy Zeus said, “and I’d like to acknowledge that generosity with a contribution of my own. That is what Purgatory is about.”
Doors open at 9 p.m. and stay open until 4 a.m.
“We have some amazing things planned,” Zeus said, “and the midnight appearance of Tober Brandt, one of the hottest video stars I’ve ever seen, is really the icing on the cake. You won’t want to miss what Dr. Fingerhole does to him onstage.”
Steven Canale, owner of the Oasis Nightclub, said, “This will be really hot. Purgatory may the party of the New Year.”
Among the festivities planned is a silent auction, boot black services, buzz cuts by Palm Springs Barber Shop, and fetish demonstrations all night long.
Daddy Zeus has been involved in the gay fetish adult world for more than 30 years. He is a GAYVN Hall of Fame recipient and his ZeusStudios line is still going strong. His latest release, “Military Inquisition,” which stars Brandt, will premiere the night of the event.
“A group of us, all in the leather/fetish community, were sitting around talking back in July of this year,” Zeus said. “We got to talking about how we could give back, and form a lasting legacy for the community. We decided we needed a cause.”
According to the National Cancer Institute , prostate cancer is defined as “cancer that forms in tissues of the prostate (a gland in the male reproductive system found below the bladder and in front of the rectum). Prostate cancer usually occurs in older men.”
In 2007, the U.S. estimated 218,890 new cases. The 2007 death rate is estimated at 27,050.
“One of every three men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer,” Zeus said. “I would like this event to be a wake-up call for any man who has a prostate. It’s not a bad word, and we shouldn’t hide from it — it’s a fact of life. I am hoping that we can help bring awareness to this cause, and hope that Purgatory becomes a yearly event — even after we’ve found a cure.”
Tickets are $20 and donations, for those who will be unable to attend the event, are being accepted at DaddyZeus.com .
