Adult Industry Support for Candidates Makes Newsweek

NEW YORK — Veteran adult performer Jenna Jameson's support for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Hustler founder Larry Flynt's hosting of a fundraiser for Dennis Kucinich were mentioned in an article posted today on the Newsweek website titled "The Election Gets D-Listed."

Jameson's support for Clinton was first expressed in an interview posted online last May, in which she said, "I love Hillary. I think that in some ways she's pretty conservative for a democrat, but I would love to have a woman in office."

The Kucinich fundraiser, which took place at the LFP headquarters in Beverly Hills, Calif., last month, was the first political fundraiser hosted by Flynt, who was part of the organizing committee which also included mainstream actors Woody Harrelson and Sean Penn.

The article details "the wacky D-lister endorsements of 2008," including talk show host Jerry Springer's endorsement of Clinton, actor John O'Hurley's maximum-allowable-by-law donation to Rudy Giuliani, singer Harry Belafonte's support of John Edwards and game show host Pat Sajak's admiration of Fred Thompson's decision to announce his candidacy on "The Tonight Show" rather than through The New York Times.
