BRIGHTON, U.K. — IPTV provider Global Digital Broadcast has announced the launch of adult channel Wrist Action TV. Viewers can access linear programming, as well as live, interactive shows, in a streaming format and broadcast in real-time.
Wrist Action TV is being headed up by two well-known U.K. adult personalities: One-Eyed Jack Productions director/producer Terry Stephens and performer Marino, aka Super Dick of “U.K. Road Trip” series fame.
“Our programs will span high-end professional to mid-range gonzo,” Stephens said. “You can expect delights from the likes of Super Mario's 'Road Trips' and One Eyed Jack Productions, in addition to a juicy bunch of other U.K. producers and genuine amateur, homemade contributions.”
“The live and interactive broadcast shows, hosted by cherry-picked U.K. talent and showcasing new and popular models, will allow viewers to, virtually, ‘take part’ in a live event and ‘interact’ with the studs and sex kittens on screen — even telling them what to do,” he said.
In December, parent company Global Digital Broadcast partnered with broadcast network PlayTV UK expanding their reach into the U.K. market. Wrist TV will be available to viewers with a GDB-PlayTV UK set-top box, as well as online at the Wrist Action website. Programming also is downloadable to mobile devices and gaming consoles.
Other niche programming that will be available through Global Digital Broadcast networks includes sports, music, news, movies and films and retail, among others.
Founded in 2005, Global Digital Broadcast provides IPTV services via broadband to Northern Europe (Sur Canal) and to mid-west America (SunCasTV), with plans for expansion into Sweden and Scandinavia; plus aggregates Russian content for MaksTV and Spanish-speaking, Latin programming for U.S.-based Via America.
Recent international broadband statistics indicate that the broadband users have increased from 178 million to 221 million, from June 2006 to June 2007, with 99.6 percent of the U.K. capable of 2-10mg of broadband.
Industry analyst company Canalys research indicates 39.6 million worldwide IPTV subscribers by the end of 2010, which is a tenfold increase from fewer than 4 million in 2006.
Representatives from Wrist Action TV and Global Digital Broadcast will be available for meetings in Las Vegas, Jan. 9-12. To arrange a meeting, contact Jim Deans on +44 7774 266244 or email jim@gdbtv.com.
