Adultspace: Young Women Catching Up with Men on Pleasure-Seeking Front

GLENDALE, Calif. — According to two years of ongoing research and observation reported by adult community website adultspace.com, women are as increasingly liberal as their male counterparts with matters of the heart, promiscuity and pleasure.

According to adultspace.com spokeswoman Shannon Marie, defiance toward conservative social norms and expectations runs deep younger people, particularly among Generation X and Y females.

"I was surprised to see such a balance in the ratio of women to men who openly admit to holding off on marriage, children, and monogamy," Marie said. "It goes to show how far women's liberation has come, when a successful, independent, polished young woman candidly seeks a casual intimate relationship over an online social network."

Rather than catering to people of all ages, adultspace.com was created to provide an interactive community for likeminded adult users. The site, which has been open a year and reports 300,000 members, offers member forums, communication platforms, social networking and adult entertainment.

"Women seem to be more frank about their personal needs without the worry of it carrying a stigma of promiscuity or chastity," Marie said, citing a 31-year-old member who described herself as independently successful, having a career most men would envy, but no time to date and she doesn't want to spend every night alone.
