XBIZ Hollywood Golf, Poker Tourneys Are Slated

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — XBIZ has finalized arrangements for a pair of extracurricular events at the XBIZ Hollywood ’08 Industry Conference, the golf and poker tournaments.

Both events are slated for Tuesday, Feb. 5, a day prior to the official opening of the conference at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, and serve as opportunities for attendees to begin networking.

The golf tourney will be held at the Robinson Ranch Mountain Golf Course. At 8 a.m., a bus will provide transportation to the course from the Roosevelt, as well as the nearby Magic Castle Hotel. The tournament also will include lunch and a post-golf awards party with drinks and snacks.

NetBilling, Matrix Content, CamZ, Epoch, Encoding.tv, Smashbucks and Webquest will sponsor contests for a number of golf strokes, from the straightest drive to the longest. The winning foursome will earn cash.

Later, the Porn Poker Tour warmup party will be held in the lobby of the Roosevelt, beginning at 9 p.m. The event, a winner-takes-all competition of Texas hold'em, includes an open bar, as well as T-shirt giveaways and cash prizes. Sponsors for the poker event include Eroticy, EMC2 Billing, CamZ, Dating Gold, NetBilling and IWantU.

Stephen Bugbee of Matrix Content, who is helping coordinate the golf tourney, told XBIZ that he’s anxious to get on the course and start networking.

“We are looking for a fun filled-afternoon of golf and networking with friends and colleagues prior to kicking off the XBIZ Hollywood Conference,” he said.

XBIZ Sales Director Kristen Kaye said she was "thrilled to have both of these great events associated with the XBIZ Industry Conference."

"Many thanks to Bugbee, Mitch [Farber of NetBilling] and all of the other sponsors for helping put together the perfect opening salvo to what promises to be a memorable networking conference," she said.

The Porn Poker Tour is free for conference attendees; the Webmaster Golf Tournament costs $65.
