Cole, who has 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, returns to AMG after a four-year hiatus from the company, and is the first new hire the company has made since being founded in 2004.
"I'm glad to finally be able to align one of my great passions with a job that I really enjoy,” Cole said. “Most people are never able to achieve this goal, and I’m grateful that Dennis has offered me this opportunity to come back and represent the 60-year history of AMG as the oldest continually operating studio in the gay industry."
AMG owner Dennis Bell acquired the complete library of legendary muscle photographer/filmmaker Bob Mizer in 2004, which comprises the content available from the AMG Classic line. Dating back to the late ‘40’s, Mizer’s work includes thousands of photos and more than 3,000 films. Bell told XBIZ he is in the process of digitizing and remastering the content for distribution on DVD, but that it is a painstakingly slow process.
The studio also produces a contemporary line of hardcore DVDs with its AMG Brasil line. Shot entirely on location in Brazil with local amateur models, the studio has enjoyed critical acclaim for 2007’s big-budget production, the two-part “Amazônia: Capture & Release.”
“Larry was instrumental as we rebuilt AMG's foundation back in our first year, and it is with great pleasure that we welcome him back in a much larger role,” AMG President Dennis Bell said. "He will be well received by all of our retail customers, and will be a great support to our wholesale partners, Paladin Video and Colt Studio Group."
