The film portrays Veitch and Riverside, Calif.-based Sandals Church pastor Matt Brown as they struggle in the face of opposition from other clergy members over their approach to salvation and the tone of some of the imagery contained on the ministry's website, JC's Girls — the “JC” standing for “Jesus Christ.”
Veitch and friends visit strip clubs and adult events in an effort to reach out to performers and spread their message. The film depicting Veitch’s ministry was recently shown at the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, and will soon appear at the Nashville Film Festival.
After the film was completed, Veitch and her husband Jon separated, and problems between her and Brown, along with several members of the 3,000-member Sandals church, were reported.
Veitch’s ministry now receives support from the Central Christian Church in Las Vegas, where she recently began a video series with former prostitute Annie Lobért called "Saving Sex City."
Veitch said she feels called to work in Las Vegas, where she tells people that God is still present.
"This place isn't off limits," Veitch said. "There still are consequences to your actions."
