The softcore version of the video, titled “Sexy Seasons,” has been released simultaneously.
The studio is partnered with video-on-demand network AEBN to produce video content to appeal to the Latin markets. According to AEBN/Cine X Latino international press representative Melanie Porter, Spanish-speaking audiences in the U.S. are large and largely under-served.
“There’s more than 40 million Hispanics in this country and Spanish is the second language in this country, so it’s a big market,” Porter told XBIZ.
She also said that demand for Latin content is high.
“If the question is, ‘Is there demand?’ The answer is hell, yes,” Porter said.
“It’s interesting because before Cine XLatina, there were some Spanish-speaking studios that were making movies but they weren’t really marketed effectively, so you didn’t see them a lot,” Porter added.
“A lot of stores were selling Portuguese-speaking movies because that was the only thing closely related to Spanish,” she said. “Then you had other companies making movies in English and dubbing them into Spanish. The other thing you have is movies that feature Hispanic girls, but they’re in English.”
Cine X Latino features three lines produced in Argentina, including CineX69, Putiklub and Latin Puppies. Story-driven plot lines appeal to the Latin market, and all the videos are produced in Spanish with subtitles in English and Portuguese.
The studio, which was started in February 2007, has received critical acclaim, winning five awards at the International Erotic Film Festival, which was held for the first time last year in Buenos Aires.
The company also has plans to participate in this year’s FICEB, formerly known as the Barcelona International Erotic Film Festival. The 2008 show will take place in Madrid, June 26-28.
Cine X Latino also plans to roll out its revamped website sometime next week.
