The owner of Baltimore, Md.-based Swollen Skateboards Spencer W approached Rotten with the idea for the deck in an effort to capture a bit of his lifestyle after watching his movies, Rotten told XBIZ. A skater from California’s Bay Area, Rotten readily agreed.
“When I was asked to do this board my immediate reaction was ‘fuck yeah man, this is rad,’” Rotten told XBIZ. “I was stoked about the whole thing. The board looks amazing and is really high-quality.”
Rotten’s deck has attracted the attention of the mainstream skateboarding culture. Influential skate magazine Transworld is featuring Rotten and adult star Roxy DeVille posing with the board in a pictorial for an upcoming issue.
“It’s really an honor to be featured in a magazine like Transworld that’s so respected within the skater community,” Rotten said. “I think people are going to dig the boards even if they don’t know who I am, the art is that cool.”
