Domina Hera Maintains Double Life in Law, BDSM

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Secret identities aren’t just for superheroes.

A German women known only as Hera pushes paper and files motions by day as a lawyer, but at night, she dons the leather-and-chain trappings of a professional dominatrix, sometimes even servicing her daytime legal clients with nighttime trips to her pleasure den.

Hera said that the attraction to S&M springs from a person’s need to reconcile their childhood fears with adult passions.

“It is about controlled repetition of humiliation, hurt, et cetera,” she said in an interview with AEBN. “Through this one can find control and find a way out — in combination with pleasure, hopefully.”

The video-on-demand giant interviewed the dominatrix to showcase the BDSM-themed social-networking community SocialKink.com.

Hera's unusual dual career happened naturally, she said, as she paid her way through law school with her S&M work, which she says makes her feel strong.

“I have always admired strong women,” she said. “I love the spirit of rebellion that this practice invokes.”

Hera said that her typical client is a rich and powerful man, but it may come as a surprise that most of her clients are also married — an anomaly that Hera couldn’t explain.

“Possibly it is that they want to isolate that part out of their marriage,” she said. “Usually there is an element of fear of completely opening up to the partner and scaring her away. Not everybody is able to be so impartial with their sexuality. The fact that they come to me for release is an honor.”

Hera maintains a profile on the BDSM-themed networking website SocialKink.com.
