Adult Imagery Center Stage in Mainstream Ad

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — In another synthesis between mainstream and adult entertainment, marketers at LG Mobile have lifted imagery from adult entertainment to promote a new phone.

LG’s new Secret phone first started generating buzz online back in April. The phone includes a five megapixel camera and the ability to capture video at 120 frames per second.

To promote this product, the brains at LG conjured up a 1 minute 40 second spot that feels like the introduction to a high-concept adult movie.

A well-dressed man spies on a sleeping woman in a neighboring apartment building. He takes out the LG Secret phone and starts to film her. On his display screen, he uses his fingertips to caress her body, and she seems to react to his touch.

Later, he lights up a cigar, takes a puff and blows smoke against the screen on his phone. The smoke fills the woman’s apartment and sets off her sprinkler system, soaking her lingerie to her skin.

Then the man’s mother calls.

All Media Play President Jeff Mullen told XBIZ that seeing such frank imagery in a mainstream ad came as no surprise.

“Very nicely done,” he said. “The ad makes me want to throw away my old dumbed-down phone so that I can get hot babes like that. Whoops — I guess I already do.”

The video is available to watch at YouTube.com.
