CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Adult production company Smash Pictures has signed on with high-definition newcomer MidniteVideos.com in a deal that will bring the company’s current and future titles to video-on-demand.
"I think this is going to be a great relationship,” said Stuart Wall manager of sales and production for Smash Pictures. “Everything is going VOD these days. We're really looking forward to seeing all the stuff we've been shooting available through video-on-demand. Midnite Videos is really going to stand out and put a good dent in the VOD market.”
Smash Picture’s “Cheating Housewives” series, a top seller for the company, will be one of the first high-definition VOD offerings on MidniteVideos.com.
“We initiated the deal with Smash Pictures,” Tory Labarbera, marketing and sales director for Midnite Videos told XBIZ. “People want to see quality content and Smash Pictures is a known-producer of high quality material. Their content will bring consumers to the site and users will stay for everyone else.”
The website launch has been slated for next week. Aside from offering downloadable high-definition content to consumers, users will have the option of downloading purchases to their iPods and cellphones.
On the B2B side, Midnite Videos offers studios a movie tracker with real-time statistics, statistical archives and a guarantee against piracy or bootlegging.
Last week, New Sensations and Digital Sin signed on with the website whose roster of clients include Pulse Distribution, Adam and Eve, Wicked Pictures, Metro, Pink Visuals, Woodman Entertainment, Red Light District and Platinum X.
