NYC Pride Party for 'Folsom Prison' Release

SAN FRANCISCO — Gay adult production company Titan Media will join with the Eagle NYC nightclub, The Leatherman NYC and pjur group USA to celebrate the release of “Folsom Prison” during a special New York City Pride weekend event.

“Folsom Prison” is the latest release under the Folsom imprint produced by Titan, and debuted in May during Leather Pride week festivities in Chicago, to coincide with the Grabby Awards. Proceeds of sales from the Folsom line go to benefit Folsom Events charities, the nonprofit organization that puts on San Francisco’s Folsom Street Fair in September.

The release party will be held at the Eagle NYC, located at 554 West 28th Street, on June 28 at 10 p.m.

The party will feature Titan Men exclusives Diesel Washington and Dean Flynn, as well as free giveaways. A raffle will be held to benefit The Stonewall Foundation, and the grand prizewinner will receive airfare and accommodations for this year’s Folsom Street Fair.

Involvement in community resource organizations and charities has played a large role for the crew at Titan; even more so with both New York City and San Francisco Pride events scheduled for this weekend.

“We have always felt that Pride should be about the community and for nonprofit organizations, not about half-naked pornstars dancing in jockstraps on floats,” Titan Media Vice President Keith Webb told XBIZ. “Naked pornstars dancing half-naked in the streets is reserved for Folsom Street Fair.”

“Both Bruce Cam and myself, as well as many on our staff, are personally volunteering this Pride weekend [in San Francisco],” Webb said. “Bruce and I will be manning the donation buckets at the gates to Pink Saturday in the Castro to benefit St. James Infirmary. St. James is a local non-profit that specializes in safety and health clinic for sex workers and the transgendered community.”

Webb also pointed out the significance of Pride celebrations, in connection with the recently decision by the California Supreme Court affecting same-sex marriages. “In this historic year of same-sex marriage, and the possible ballot initiative to repeal it, we have a special obligation to put our best and brightest faces forward during the Pride,” Webb said.

“The entire world and the voters of California are watching and we need to show who we really are as a community,” he added. “We are your neighbors, your sons, your daughters, your nieces, your nephews and we are just as deserving of recognition of our committed relationships as any other citizen.”
