Hustler TV Inks Exclusive B'cast Pact With Digital Playground

LOS ANGELES — LFP Broadcasting LLC, parent company of Hustler TV, has signed an open-ended worldwide exclusive agreement for broadcast rights with adult production company Digital Playground. The deal was announced today.

LFP President Michael H. Klein told XBIZ that Digital Playground productions should be available on Hustler TV's linear systems in September and on VOD in October.

Hustler TV is seen in more than 50 countries worldwide. It serves more than 45 million homes in the U.S. and has a presence in Canada, Mexico and South America. It is also distributed in Europe. The company cross-promotes its connection with the Hustler brand name and Hustler adult entertainment properties including magazines, websites, Hustler Clubs, Hustler Hollywood stores, and the Los Angeles-based Hustler Casino.

"Partnering with Digital Playground will offer Hustler TV viewers some of the most popular product available," Klein said. "The agreement will also give us access to some of the industry's top HD titles with exclusive Digital Playground stars like Jesse Jane, which we plan to make available exclusively on our new Hustler HD for VOD service."

Founded in 1993, Digital Playground was a pioneer in the interactive format and produced the mainstream crossover title, "Pirates." In 2004, the studio produced their first HD adult film, "Island Fever 3," shot on location in Tahiti and Bora Bora. The company currently claims the largest adult HD library in the industry.

"When two of the biggest names in adult entertainment come together, magic happens," Digital Playground founder Joone said. "Partnering our brand with the most popular adult television service in the world, allows us to expand our business to a huge global VOD and PPV market that reaches far beyond traditional distribution outlets."

Digital Playground CEO Samantha Lewis is pleased with the increased reach of Hustler TV.

"From the inception of Digital Playground, I demanded the things I would want to see in adult films," Lewis said. "This has resulted in highly visible product that can be marketed outside of the traditional adult markets. In the last decade, I have watched our demographic change from almost 100 percent male to over 50 percent women and couples.

"To have an opportunity today to partner with Hustler and its founder, Larry Flynt, is both a privilege and honor. Our companies are like-minded and forward thinking. Hustler offers a strong platform for our product and their demographic is remarkable. With high regards for Michael Klein at the helm of this venture, I am looking forward to a long and profitable partnership."
