Carney, who said he was leaving Hustler on good terms, hopes to appeal to a part of the gay market that he feels is underserved: a rock crowd.
Carney describes his first title, tentatively named “Turn of the Screw,” as “Eon McKai for boys.”
“I’m looking for young rocker dudes,” Carney told XBiz, “not muscle-bound Adonises.” His company will hold an open casting call and the event will be filmed for supplemental material or a solo line with the working title “Cum Rag.”
“The casting becomes part of the public relations,” Carney said. “This has never been done before in a gay line.”
Working with “Kill Girl Kill” producer Malachi Ecks, Carney has mapped the logistics and budgets of two projects already and is shopping them around town, even to former employer Larry Flynt Productions.
Carney said he believes his products would be a good line for smart, risk-taking straight companies looking to crossover into the gay market.
“It's perfect for a new or established straight triple-x studio that wants to make some money with a new gay line,” Carney said. “This project will cause a sensation and compete with the biggies for very little dough.”
Carney also will launch his website, SeanCarnage.com, soon.
“I’m reclaiming my identity,” he said.
