XBIZ Summer Forum Gets Mainstream Exposure

LOS ANGELES — Last week’s XBIZ Summer Forum received mainstream attention from the Los Angeles Times, as well as LasVegasWeekly.com.

L.A. Times blog writer Richard Abowitz, who also is a contributing editor for Las Vegas Weekly, covered the XBSF trade show in detail, in his Vegas-focused Moveable Buffet blog for the Times.

XBIZ Premiere Editor-in-Chief Steve Javors was quoted, describing the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino as exuding “cool, hip sophistication” and as a perfect partner for the summer show.

Events at the show were covered in detail, as well, particularly the Miss XBIZ Summer contest, in which Vivid contract star Nikki Jayne was crowned the spokesmodel for the XBSF 2009 promotional campaign.

In his regular Sage Advice column for Las Vegas Weekly, Abowitz wrote extensively of his meeting with legendary adult director/producer John Stagliano, who is at the center of a recent federal obscenity prosecution.

Stagliano, who was a featured guest at the XBSF as a speaker on the Legal Obscenities seminar panel, also attended the show to promote his company’s Evil Angel Cash affiliate program.

A video interview with Stagliano also was featured with Abowitz’s column on LasVegasWeekly.com.

An additional video interview with Javors also is featured, with the editor speaking on the challenges faced by the adult industry and how trade shows like XBSF disseminate necessary information to adult producers who are seeking to diversify and expand beyond the traditional video business model.

Adult performer/producer Joanna Angel also takes part in the video interview, giving her unique take on running an adult business.
