The suit against Blatt and other defendants was dismissed with prejudice, meaning it could be refilled if Blatt violates the courts orders. It was agreed upon by both parties, Blatt and Troyer, that Blatt is permanently enjoined from distributing, selling, reproducing or exhibiting the sex tape, which features Troyer and then-girlfriend Renae Shrider.
“I would just like to thank Verne and the law firm of McPherson and Associates for the dismissal,” Blatt told XBIZ. “They knew ultimately I never had the tape or the ability to sell it. I’d also like to thank my attorney Paul Berra for his work on this case. No one knows more about this kind of lawsuit or celebrity sex tapes than Paul Berra.”
U.S. Judge Edwin McPherson also barred Blatt from “acting in concert” with a third party to release the tape.
TMZ.com obtained the tape through Shrider, Troyer’s ex live-in girlfriend, who filmed the sexual escapade with the diminutive “Austin Powers” star.
Blatt said that he hopes “to help assist Verne in finding the whereabouts of the tape.”
