9th Annual Cybersocket Web Awards Nominations Open

LOS ANGELES — LGBT media dynamo Cybersocket has announced the opening of the nomination period for its 9th Annual Web Awards.

According to the company, now is your chance to nominate the best of the best in the LGBT online industry and let your favorite sites know that the work they do really matters.

The Awards show will be held in Los Angeles, in conjunction with the XBiz Hollywood Conference in February, 2009, with a time and location yet to be announced.

The Cybersocket Web Awards is the only event of its kind to honor the best LGBT websites. Each year, outstanding websites are recognized for their achievements in both "Surfer Choice" categories and "Industry Choice" categories.

"We feel that it is essential to honor these individuals and companies as being technological entrepreneurs, important agents of free expression and cultural change, and innovators in queer online media and entertainment," said a company spokesperson.

The online nominations period for both the surfer and webmaster categories will run through October 5.

Banners are available online for websites wishing to help spread the word about the Cybersocket Web Awards.
