Nortel Engineer Rolls Out Hi-Tech Vibrator

OTTAWA — Self-professed "classic conservative" Bruce Morison has invented a best-selling vibrator that stimulates both the clitoris and the G-spot. And it's placed an ex-Nortel engineer at the forefront of adult toys manufacturing.

Murison, a 48-year-old mechanical engineer has created more than 20 inventions, but none for the adult market. "I can't believe I'm a sex-toy expert," Murison told Canada.com.

The We-Vibe is hands-free, strap-free and wireless. Created from medical-grade silicone, the We-Vibe is soft and conforms to the female shape, which allows the device to become form fitting over time.

Measuring only 3.25 inches long and 1 inch wide and weighing only 60 grams (2 ounces), the We-Vibe is discrete and portable. Construction features two motors and offers dual vibe stimulation. The elegant design and unique functions have landed Murison several awards, including Top Toy of the Yearby Sue Johanson’s “Talk Sex” TV series, broadcast on the Oxygen network.

Murison financed the initial production of the We-Vibe through a combination of personal loans, mortgage refinancing and tapping out his credit.

The gamble paid off. Approximately 20,000 units have been sold with distributors in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia and South America. Murison has recently returned from China where he has located manufacturers to begin production of 10,000 units per month.

The We-Vibe retails for $130 and is available at online retailers.
