Porn.com's Operator Files UDRP Complaint

DETROIT — MXN Ltd., the operator of Porn.com and other adult entertainment properties, has filed a UDRP case with WIPO arbitrators over the Porn.com property.

The adult entertainment website, up until last week, was registered with Moniker.com. But shortly thereafter, Porn.com was transferred to the Regional Network Information Center, JSC, dba RU-CENTER (.ru), under privacy. However, the site still resolves to Porn.com's content.

News of the apparent domain theft was first posted by TheDomains, which reported: "We have not been able to confirm the nature of the UDRP and that its to recover a stolen domain but it's the only thing that makes sense."

Industry attorney Corey Silverstein, who represents MXN, declined comment to XBIZ on Porn.com's UDRP case.

The apparent domain theft would be the second-most prominent porn domain hijacking ever attempted.

Former Sex.com operator Gary Kremen retrieved his domain after spending several years trying to get it back from Stephen Cohen. Later, in 2007, Kremen sold Sex.com for $14 million.

Kremen, to date, still is trying to collect $65 million in a judgment against Cohen over the Sex.com domain theft.
