Mobile Roundup 2010

Among the most vibrant spaces in adult entertainment today is the mobile market, where a growing throng of both new and established companies seek their share of the portable porn pie. Here's a brief look at some of the operators in the adult mobile space that are finding success from satisfying consumers on the go — or from serving the needs of others that would cater to them:

Adult Mobile Solutions
Adult Mobile Solutions (AMS) provides a range of modular features for operators, all of which include global billing integration and settlement services that are compatible with any network operator or third party billing platform.

According to AMS, it provides direct connectivity to mobile network operators and large aggregators for billing while maintaining its own platforms for premium services which can be branded to suit the customer's required look and feel, while standard templates are available to speed up deployments. Clients may upload their own content, or choose from AMS' extensive library of licensed content, from wallpapers to ringtones.

AMS provides a suite of web based toolkits, allowing clients to manage everything from content to its pricing and is fully integrated with MPA3 and NATS among other platforms, and provides SMS, phone and credit card billing, too.

Adultmoda
Mobile advertising network Adultmoda boasts that it is comprised of a small team of highly motivated and talented individuals who focus on getting things done, with a no-nonsense approach to business.

"We run a tight ship and have retained a bottom line traditional business outlook, even though we operate in a high tech modern sector," stated an Adultmoda spokesperson. "We wanted to develop an ad network that makes money now, not five years from now, for our clients and for us."

Adultmoda offers advertisers the adult mobile traffic they need, for the handsets they are targeting, from all over the world. Publishers of mobile tube sites, mobile adult dating sites, mobile cam sites, or any site (or app) with adult mobile traffic can monetize it via Adultmoda's network. Included among the company's offerings are adult ad units for Android apps and a customizable mobile landing page tool for adult webmasters that can be used to make money from all of their traffic.

Grindhouse Mobile
With offices in Boulder, Colo. and Los Angeles, Grindhouse Mobile specializes in the mobilization of adult content. Backed by a team that has run large adult online and content distribution businesses for more than 15 years, managing affiliate systems and developing relationships with premier adult brands, the Grindhouse programmers and designers are fluent in all mobile platform languages, including Cocoa with Objective C (iPhone); Java (Android and Blackberry); Visual C++ .Net Framework (Windows Mobile); WebOS (Palm Pre); and J2ME (Symbian OS).

Specialized services such as mobile application and website development, mobile content optimization, traffic direction and brand building are also available.

"We have the team assembled and the resources available to help our clients mobilize and monetize their content and provide our customers with an enjoyable, intimate and interactive user experience," said a Grindhouse rep. "The process starts by listening to our client's needs."

Its MassiveMobile.mobi portal is an Internet-filtering website that's intended to translate all websites, regardless of compatibility, into a mobile-friendly format; and features an adult search engine that lets users dial up sites from around the world.

"Now cellphone users can interact with the PC web so they can look at a mobile friendly version of their favorite sites as well as discover a universe of made for mobile adult sites they never knew existed, regardless of their carrier or cellphone," CEO Moe Schizzle said.

Night Mobile
Night Mobile was established more than seven years ago to full a gap in the mobile adult entertainment market, providing innovative and sophisticated adult entertainment products in partnership with more than 150 adult brands — including major studios, content providers, distributors and others. Recent projects include the development of mobile membership sites for Adam & Eve, Red Light District, Wicked, and Evil Angel.

According to the company, its end-to-end mobile solutions provide clients with a mobile presence; increase traffic to existing portals; and open new revenue streams for mobile carriers; cable, satellite and TV production companies; print and online media; as well as online businesses and webmasters.

Night Mobile employs automatic handset detection and optimization for thousands of devices, including the iPhone, BlackBerry and G1 (Android) powered units; and offers hundreds of thousands of adult videos and pictures in a variety of niches and categories.

Pink Adventure AG
According to the company, Pink Adventure AG offers televised adult programming along with interactive entertainment services and online portals under its pinksim brand.

Its Hot Movie Night is seen across European television, showcasing more than 800 hours of production per month. The lineup includes full length softcore movies from top producers and studios, plus clips and reality content services.

Applications for mobile phones such as SMS subscription services and mobile portals as well as interactive voice response services are available, as are services targeting the adult magazine market.

An adult webmaster program offers affiliates €7.50 pay-per-signup with transparent and automated statistics, while a variety of resources are available to promote pinksim and its cutting edge mobile products.

RevShare it!
RevShare it! markets several straight and gay mobile compatible websites for adult affiliates to promote. Each site auto detects the user's device and presents them with a tour designed especially for their device, reportedly increasing conversions and retention. Revshare it! offers affiliates a 50-75 percent recurring revenue share on all signups, with a payout guarantee that if you find a mobile sponsor paying a higher percentage, they will beat it, with no minimums or volume required.

The program provides a range of promotional tools for affiliates, including redirect codes to place on websites to automatically redirect mobile visitors to RevShare it! sites. Mobile compatible hosted galleries, banners, free content, white labels and more are also available as are special offers for high traffic clients.

SexGoesMobile.com
A mobile adult affiliate program featuring tools designed to make the webmaster's life easier, SexGoesMobile.com offers mobile traffic targeting scripts for use on current websites to convert existing mobile visitors.

"We put a set of tools at your disposal, which supports your daily work, leading you to a quicker path to success," said a company rep. "We offer simple and clear step-by-step instructions and bring all the statistics to you, so you can plan all your success."

With more than 20 video niches offered via pay-per-download and subscription; worldwide billing via SMS, WAP, credit card, and direct debit; a mobile live webcam chat system; a CashPoints reward system; and payouts after one month, ensuring affiliate cash flow, SexGoesMobile.com banks on the strength of its services in this competitive marketplace. Comprehensive real-time statistics allow affiliates to keep track of their 50 percent payouts, 10 percent referral fees and accumulated CashPoints.

White label services are available for program operators and content producers.

Spankmo Mobile
Spankmo offers a Mobile Services Platform that works alongside a client website to automatically provide a mobile-optimized version of the selected content, using a design based on the existing site and without the need for any technical changes. Turnaround time is often as little as one week. According to the company, your mobile users will get a rich experience, with fullscreen photo galleries, high-quality video optimized for their handset, and a slick user interface that's designed to provide quick access to your content.

"You've done the hard work of building your brand, driving traffic, and offering content that excites your users," stated a Spankmo rep. "Spankmo will help you attract new customers, keep them longer, and increase your revenue."

Spankmo accommodates flexible business models so clients can offer their mobile site the way that makes the most sense for their business. Per-user, revenue share, and pay-per-view options are available, and existing payment providers can be used with no changes. Qualified sites have the option of signing up with no cash out of pocket, while the company's SpankBucks program lets mobile affiliates get in on the action.

TopBucks Mobile
Veterans of the online Internet space, TopBucks Mobile is a top-tier affiliate program offering more than 15 niche-themed mobilized adult websites in five languages available for promotion. Featuring exclusive content and XML feeds, a mobile redirect script is available to affiliates wanting to filter their mobile traffic to the program, either directly, or to a customizable white-label.

"Since at least five percent of all adult traffic comes from mobile or handheld devices, now is the time to turn that traffic into cash by simply redirecting that traffic to a white label version of our mobile site," stated a TopBucks Mobile spokesperson.

The company has presented a number of mobile marketing workshops for affiliate webmasters, and continues to expand its offerings in the mobile adult space through its TopBucks SMS program and recently released mobile white paper.

TopBucks Mobile pays affiliates $15-$20 on a $1 trial membership, or a 60 percent recurring revenue share on referred sales.

While certainly not a comprehensive list of the players in the mobile adult market, or their offerings, this brief roundup demonstrates the range of opportunities presented and pursued by some of today's top players. As 2010 progresses, new mobile opportunities will no doubt come to the forefront — as will new companies setting out to pursue those opportunities — bringing porn straight to the consumer, wherever he or she may be.
