InterNext: Las Vegas, January 2002: Day 1

The first day of the show was jam-packed and energy filled, with a very upbeat enthusiasm that stood in contrast to the laid back atmosphere of the previous "Summer Show." While some of the bigger names were not as visible as they were in year's past, many fresh faces were there to fill the void and try their hand in this arena...

Sunday Morning
I began the day by speaking at the first seminar "Educating Newbies: A summary of subjects every newbie should know." Accompanied by my old friends Colin Rowntree from Wasteland.com and Greg Geelan from the YNOT Network, the panel also included the informative Karen Cambell from Netbilling.com, and was moderated by my very favorite attorney, Frederick S. Lane III from SexBizLaw.com. This seminar was packed full of aspiring adult Webmasters, many of whom had yet to build their first site.

While the attendees learned quite a few nuggets of wisdom from our esteemed panel, I also learned a surprising tidbit: out of a large, full room (several hundred?) of primarily "newbie" Webmasters, ONLY ONE used a free host to provide a home for his site. In days past, the number would have been much higher, and I'm curious enough about this statistic to investigate it more thoroughly; but back to the show:

After my seminar most of the audience stayed put, anxious for the knowledge that the remaining seminars would bring, but I decided to take a look around the show floor, where I grabbed the following still photos and video clips to share with you. Click the pics for a closer look:

Night Time in Sin City
I just let 'Kitten' out to prowl with Twinkley (Thanks!), LaurieX, Lady Sharlot, and a few other nice young ladies. I talked to my pal Connor from The Adult Webmaster for a bit, and now I'm back at work, sharing some of the sights and sounds of InterNext with you. CC Bill is said to be throwing quite a bash tonight, and we'll be stopping by after Twinkley brings Dawn Elizabeth back.

And speaking of bashes, 'Kitten' and I'll then be heading to the Amateur Mega Bash ~ Of course, we'll still try to make it back to our hotel early enough that I can sleep before I speak at 10:30 on "The Traffic Generation: How to optimize your traffic revenue." Did somebody say "More Coffee?"

So, you ask "Why should I bother going to InterNext?"
Check out these Video Clips I shot earlier today and see for yourself!

Growing Site Revenue Under Ever-Changing Compliance Rules

Over the past year, many merchants have reported earnings that were flat or even a bit down. This is due to three main factors: age verification regulations, click-to-cancel rules, and banks backing away from cross-sales due to regulatory requirements and the rollout of the Visa Acquiring Monitoring Program (VAMP).
