Tube Sites and Traffic Generation

According to a recent report by PornWatchers.com, a new search engine for adult tube videos, mankind has watched more than 1.2 million years of adult entertainment — more than the total time he has spent on earth — the surprising and unexpected result of the site’s comprehensive analysis of a pair of leading tube portals.

The report, which analyzed the top tube site platforms containing an aggregate 735,000 porn movies, found that these sites produce an immense amount of web traffic, generating more than 93 billion views between them; with an average number of views per video of 127,720.

Perhaps grudgingly, many adult website operators are turning to tube sites today for the vital traffic that they thrive upon.

With an average playtime of 11 minutes per video, the report notes that users could view 16 years worth of porn movies in a row — without watching a single video twice.

PornWatchers.com employs unique filtering features and search options allowing it to access what it claims is the world’s largest porn repository, quickly and efficiently.

“Before PornWatchers.com, porn search was driven by inaccurate and time-consuming full text searches which required that videos have the information you we’re looking for in the title,” states a company spokesperson. “With PornWatchers.com this is not necessary anymore and thousands of hidden videos can be found and filtered at an unseen level of detail.”

PornWatchers.com notes the astronomical growth of tube sites, from approximately 150 videos in 2006, to today’s powerhouses which add 22,000 new videos every month. The site also analyzed 158 million ratings from users, finding an average 63 percent of these votes were positive reviews; additionally, more than 7.5 million viewer comments have been posted under the studied tube site videos to date.

“Watching porn online seems far away from being a niche nowadays,” PornWatchers concludes, adding that “It is done in every social class.”

While these figures may seem daunting to adult content marketers, the vast size of the global audience and its voracious appetite for new material means the tube site traffic pie is big enough for everyone — if you can elbow your way up to the crowded table.

One veteran operator to see the equation from both sides of the coin is Really Useful Chairman and CEO, JT, the founder of tube behemoth YouPorn.com, which is now part of the Manwin monolith. JT parlayed the site’s sale into his own production company and affiliate program, ReallyUsefulCash.com.

At the recent XBIZ 360° event in Hollywood, this author asked JT why he bothered to enter the paysite market that he effectively helped cripple with YouPorn.com, and the wave of copycat sites that followed…

“I know how to sell to tube site visitors,” he told the audience, explaining how with a bit of work and statistical analysis, paysite owners can receive better exposure on tubes — building branding and sales from under-video banners, watermarks and other means.

One proven method for getting your share of tube site traffic is by submitting your adult video clips to tube sites — a process automated and enhanced using solutions such as Tube Sites Submitter (www.tubesitessubmitter.com), by Chameleon Submitter, which maintains this top traffic tool with regularly updated submission databases.

According to the company, its software is the only one of its kind on the market, with each Chameleon product having its own database of sites that are being reviewed, added, edited, and removed by hand on a daily basis.

Other products include Chameleon TGP/MGP Submitter, Partner Account Requester, and Chameleon Link List Submitter, providing a comprehensive implementation strategy for both adult tube and gallery site video marketing.

YouPorn, PornHub and other tubes offer Content Partner Programs that provide rights holders, studios, performers and others with a new distribution channel that is tailored to their specific needs and the realities of today’s adult entertainment market. Sales may not be as easy as the good old days, but they are there to be had — and at least the tubes foot the bandwidth bill — bringing vast new audiences for little additional overhead.

Finally, working with professional adult traffic brokers such as JuicyAds, ExoClick, EroAdvertising and others, makes getting your offer in front of tube site visitors easy and highly scalable.

Perhaps grudgingly, many adult website operators are turning to tube sites today for the vital traffic that they thrive upon. Love them or hate them, tubes are a tool that can be used for your benefit; making the best of a bad situation while trying new opportunities.
