The Deal of the Year

I told you yesterday about the ASACP self-labeling workshop being held this week at Internext in Florida; well, here’s another event to add to your schedule: on Saturday, August 5, at 1:00 p.m., noted first amendment attorney Joe (“JD”) Obenberger will present a two-hour legal workshop targeting adult webmasters and adult content providers at the Westin Diplomat’s Diplomat Ballroom 1.

Free to all Internext attendees with a seminar pass, “the program will concentrate on the substance of the law of obscenity and the punishment and forfeiture provisions that apply to it – and Section 2257, including its recent amendments – and to the legal principles involving copyright, privacy, and the appropriation of images and performances.”

I’ve got to tell you, I just got off of the phone with JD and what he’s offering is nothing short of the best deal of the year: a tremendous gift to smaller operators who can’t afford a one-on-one session with one of the top industry attorneys. According to JD, this event will be the initial two-hour discussion he holds with all new clients, providing them with current information on all aspects of relevant legal concerns.

This “Web Law 101” workshop goes beyond the usual “legal panel” offerings because it is twice as long as most legal seminars and focuses on a single attorney’s discussion, allowing for a much greater depth of detail and understanding “intended to provide essential legal information that should be in the possession of everyone involved in the online adult industry.”

If you’ve never had the pleasure of hearing JD layout his vision of the adult industry and the laws surrounding it, or have never had the budget for top-shelf legal advice, then you can’t afford to miss this event. I’ll see you there!
