Web Depot: PaW Carousel, A Video-Friendly Responsive Slider

Developed by Shaun Morrison, PaW Carousel is a lightweight (under 6kb when minified) jQuery plugin that provides responsive, infinite scrolling of images and videos. The plugin includes the required CSS coding, examples of the HTML markup for the web page (which must specify image and video dimensions), and a variety of implementation options.

PaW Carousel is fast and reliable, allowing multiple carousels to be included on a single page, with smooth image loading and video scaling at all screen sizes. Optionally cropping or resizing images for display on smaller screen sizes, PaW Carousel also supports retina images for high-resolution displays.

While PaW Carousel supports images of different sizes, Morrison notes that the carousel looks best when the images are the same height, but those images can be of any width, for a more compelling appearance. By default, the carousel will set its height to the shortest image. Images crop in from the sides when different widths display on narrower screens.
