PimpRoll: Evolving Into a Performance Network

During discussions online at XBIZ.net and elsewhere, a common theme that often emerges is the gap between some of the “old school” digital porn industry of the past, and the more modern adult entertainment industry of the present.

That’s because so many who helped start this business online have fallen out of prominence, and so many new startups have had a hard time emerging from the crowd — which is what makes the success of the PimpRoll brand during more than 15 years of continuous evolution so impressive.

Our diversity has always been a key to our longevity. —Phil Bradbury, Pimproll.com

PimpRoll recently announced the revamping of their traditional affiliate program into a modern performance network. The company has also pushed the envelope by deploying WankzVR.com as one of the most advanced virtual reality porn sites ever created.

Many content creators are continuing to make money by utilizing the company's PaidPerView.com platform to get paid per video ad impression, and affiliates have utilized its unique HostedTube.com platform to replace parked pages with thriving revenue-generating sites that take only a few minutes to create or maintain.

Few adult companies have managed to adapt such a diverse portfolio of products.

“Our diversity has always been a key to our longevity,” explained Phil Bradbury of PimpRoll.com. “One of the first things I learned, long ago in this business, is that the people who put all their eggs in one basket have a hard time coping with any sort of failure and are often unable to adapt as the landscape changes, while people whose strategies diversify their offerings are able to exploit the changes our industry has experienced and create competitive advantages.”

During the early growth of the company, PimpRoll produced and maintained hundreds of paysites, dozens of different business interests, and managed to earn what is perhaps the most reliable payout record of any company that has ever had an affiliate program.

“I’m particularly proud of the fact that PimpRoll is known for paying on time every time,” Bradbury said. “Our job as a sponsor is to make it easier to earn money and to remove obstacles that would slow your own growth. That’s why we handle so many aspects of site development, processing, screening, support and technological R&D in-house.

“When you send traffic to our sites, it’s important that you can be confidant that you’ll be paid every penny you earn. While you can take my word for it, I’d rather you ask around and build an opinion based on real experiences with PimpRoll.

“It’s easy to do things right for 15 days, or to stay the course for 15 months, but when you maintain the same values for 15 years, it tends to stick in people’s minds. That’s why we have worked so hard to earn the trust and confidence of everyone who has dealt with us.”

Just how much has the game changed over the last 15 years? When PimpRoll began, there were many thousands of amateur webmasters creating BYOT designs, sending traffic from review sites, using TGPs to generate interest as they all tried to keep pace with new technologies like home broadband. Now, the world of digital marketing is dominated by professional affiliates who have a deep understanding of what works best for their own networks of sites, how to track each and every click and where to send those uniques for the best earnings per click.

To cater better to the fully evolved traffic sources that exist today, PimpRoll analyzed its entire platform and has recreated their affiliate program from the ground up as a modern performance network with some very unique features.

“The most important thing for anyone to know about PimpRoll is that what makes us different is our ability to offer an end-to-end experience for our customers and our traffic partners,” Bradbury said.

“Instead of only serving ads up on sites owned by others and hoping they publish quality content while abiding by the ethical standards we require, our platform allows our affiliates to monetize their traffic across a wide range of sites that are inside our own inventory,” added Ross of TrafficForce.com. “Because we own the sites, have access to the internal data and have a history of marketing to customers in just about every niche imaginable — our team is uniquely capable of helping to turn your traffic into the maximum amount of money possible.”

Just how much money can affiliates make with the new PimpRoll performance network?

“Everyone used to advertise how an affiliate might earn ‘up to’ a massive amount of money per sale depending on volume,” Bradbury said. “The truth is your earnings aren’t limited to a set amount or a fixed earning per sale amount anymore. The tools available are now so much more robust and individual consumers can be tracked throughout the network so that you earn from their initial buy, upsells and all the rest. The more you send, and the better you optimize your sales funnel the more you will earn.

“Where we are the most helpful is in working with affiliates who actively put data to work, because we can provide a great deal of guidance from the facts and figures at our fingertips. Our promise is that we will do all we can to help you continually improve your earnings, in part because we understand that as you earn more, so do we. That kind of cooperation is what the new PimpRoll performance network is all about.”

When asked what PimpRoll will be doing 15 years from now, Bradbury paused and smiled.

“I’ve learned not to make bold predictions about the way the entire industry will go, or which verticals we will be interested in at any future juncture, things are much too fluid for those kinds of statements to provide much value. What I can tell you is that the way we do things has been the same since we started and will be the same whether we are talking 15 years or 50 years from now.

“Our goal has always been to identify quality people and companies to work with, to provide value in all our interactions and to earn money for everyone involved. That’s how you last 15 years in any business, by making sure that every person and every company you deal with along the way understands that you are as interested in their success as you are in your own.”

How should the future success of PimpRoll be measured, and what are some realistic goals?

“There are many millionaires who have earned fortunes working as PimpRoll affiliates in the past, a that wasn’t an accident,” David of PimpRoll said. “They worked their asses off, and they deserve all the credit for their success. Our role wasn’t doing their job for them; it was making their job as easy as possible and as profitable as it could be at every moment along our timeline together.

“I measure the success of PimpRoll by asking myself how good a job we are doing at removing obstacles, providing tools, sharing data and supporting the efforts of our publishers and advertisers. In that regard we have done well, are doing well and I expect we will continue to do even better.

“At the end of the day it’s all about performance, and the new PimpRoll is designed to leverage all of our past successes while adding the best new tools and technologies to the mix in ways that empower all our traffic partners.”
