What Turns You on Attracts True Fans

What Turns You on Attracts True Fans

Today, we live in a technological age of accessibility, where you can find anything your heart desires. Viewing porn has never been easier. On the flipside of the coin, performers have more autonomy over their careers and more control of content they can distribute to their fans. They don’t have to rely on the big studios for work and for many, that means more financial freedom and great creative independence.

One of the most common mistakes performers and regular folks just starting out make when creating content is shooting scenes they believe their fans will like, but don’t really enjoy themselves. And while that may work in some instances, it won’t have the desired effect in the long run. With porn being saturated on so many platforms, standing out from the rest of the pack can be a challenging process. Underestimating your audience is a recipe for long-term disaster.

Being unscripted can be your biggest asset as your fans and potential fans alike seek something that’s real and relatable, unlike the more scripted content from typical adult films.

Create scenes that, first and foremost, appeal to you and turn you on, especially if there is not a big enough market for it. You’ll have the advantage of building the market! The audience can judge fairly quickly the enthusiasm of a performer, and the authenticity of a scene can translate to their arousal in a profound way. Basically: If it turns you on, it’ll be more likely to turn them on. A person that knows what stimulates them and how they like to view it are more likely to film it in a way that resonates with a broader audience seeking that kind of content.

There’s an immense pool of ideas performers can explore when deciding what to shoot. Sometimes, there’s the temptation to duplicate what’s already done, but there’s a difference between being inspired and outright copying. You want to stand out and not make the same carbon copy of the original. The process can be scary for some, fearing judgement for their creation … wondering if others will like it or despise it.

But don’t wrack your brain around coming up with the “best” concept. Even leaving the cameras rolling and having sex in an unscripted nature can produce unexpected magic. Being unscripted can be your biggest asset as your fans and potential fans alike seek something that’s real and relatable, unlike the more scripted content from typical adult films. You should be having fun, because people want to vicariously enjoy themselves through that action. At the same time, never lose sight of your brand.

And while some people think it takes a lot of money to make porn, which may be true for mainstream movies or when making higher concept clips, a lot of times you’ll need little or no money.

Regardless of cost, when you do film content that is fun for you and those involved, understand that it’s still a business — growing your audience and reach is paramount. One of the ways to better keep your current fan base entertained and engaged is consistency. It doesn’t mean posting every day necessarily, (whether you’re using OnlyFans, Pornhub, ManyVids, etc.), but measuring how much content to push out will help yield the greatest long-term success. They’re more likely to invest in your brand if you give them the kind of content they’ll want to come back to. How you engage with them can also be just as crucial and vital to your success.

With social media being omnipresent today, building a loyal following is more important than ever before. The potential for broader exposure and influence is now easy. And it’s free! Posting pictures (whether it be hardcore stills and selfies) and clips from an upcoming scene is a key component to self-marketing. What’ll set you apart from the vast sea of naked bodies floating around social media is your own personality.

Your fans want to know more about you and feel relatability, getting a unique insight into your sexual adventures. Creating raffles, posting questionnaires, polls and anything that keeps them engaged in a playful manner, gives your fans a sense of inclusion into the fantasy you’re creating for them. Never be afraid of posting free videos on social platforms that allow you to post adult content. Think of it as free advertisement that will expose you to a higher number of people to discover your brand. The name of the game is accessibility.

Most importantly, have fun and be creative. You’re already having the most pleasurable sexual experiences in your personal life, now add a camera into the mix and your audience can enjoy in that thrill, with beneficial rewards.
