Q&A: VXPages Website Builder Boosts Talent Brands

Q&A: VXPages Website Builder Boosts Talent Brands

Ready to help independent models reach the next level of success by turning their brand into a full-fledged business, VXPages aims to facilitate creating a personal website, selling content, streaming live shows and benefiting from marketing tools for fan monetization.

As a content management solution, VXPages enables models to direct social media traffic to their own dedicated website, where they control their own brand and profit potential.

Platforms should see and treat models as their business partners, not as content bots.

Starting a website with VXPages is designed to be simple: create an account, design a homepage and then start a marketing campaign. For those who need assistance with the process, educational resources include one-on-one sessions with experienced coaches — known on the platform as “VXPerts,” such as famed model coach Nikki Night; along with access to a range of exclusive videos, articles and blog posts. Models that have trouble designing their website can even have VXPages do it for them.

Independent talent can also use their own custom domain name for their VXPages’ site and take advantage of the platform’s SEO features, social links and promotional tools, including vouchers. Media options include video uploads, YouTube embeds and photo galleries, among other options in the works.

VXPages also empowers models to make money through live shows, with custom pricing for per-minute  and freemium show options; along with high-quality streaming software and technology.

The platform’s creator interface allows users to set up and edit their homepage all within the browser, without coding. They seek to simplify the lives of influencers using VXPages, based on feedback the company has received from clients about their challenges and motivations.

VXPages also strives to put the same care into crafting its front-end customer interface so that fans can enjoy the full experience that a model has to offer. According to the company, their platform offers responsive website templates optimized for the 80 percent of its customers that are using mobile devices. Marketing tools such as email, messenger and Telegram enable models to share news and updates with their fans, along with a newsletter and broadcasting system that integrates with blogs, Amazon Wishlist and more.

Custom subscription options with flexible settings make specific pages and content available to “members only” to facilitate free or paid signups, with sales stats showing the most popular content and offers while tracking earnings.

As for earning potential, after deducting a 10 percent payment processing fee, VXPages pays models a 75 percent revenue share, with up to 85 percent for those participating in a special cross-promotional partnership program, with payouts made via bank wire, Paxum or paper check.

To learn more about the genesis and evolution of VXPages, XBIZ turned to product owner Florian Tauber for his insights.

XBIZ: What led to the launch of VXPages?

Tauber: As one of the biggest European cam platforms, VISIT-X, we started to create a VISIT-X homepage builder for our models 12 years ago. This was when the camming industry was going through a lot of changes and models started to use social media more professionally and found out their own brand value. It appeared necessary for models to have their own website (their own business) and we wanted to give it to them.

Our homepage builder evolved over the years and we learned a lot. In 2018 we decided to work on a new homepage system, bringing in all of the market’s needs, with additional marketing and business tools for the modern type of influencer model. And we wanted to have it stand alone from our cam platforms.

This was the beginning of VXPages.

XBIZ: Share your perspective on how the marketplace has changed over the past few years, to serve the ambitions of models wanting to take their career into their own hands.

Tauber: The industry came from a very platform-centric mindset, where models were simply seen as content. All of the market power was with the platforms, which had the customers. It changed dramatically, and especially in the German adult market, this process started very early. That is why we were able to understand and adapt to it very early on.

Platforms should see and treat models as their business partners, not as content bots. A lot of models understand themselves as a brand today. They can create followers and fans. Those fans are incredibly valuable because they’re already dedicated fans of that model. In other words: Those models can generate valuable targeted traffic for their own content and services.

Still, a lot of them are sending this traffic to a cam or content platform. It is a good way to push your profile or cam room, but the platform benefits a lot and some of them still don’t pay models for this valuable traffic.

On most cam platforms, you will only earn as long as you are online. If you go offline, you stop earning money. But the platform will continue to work with your followers, that you brought to them. In the worst case, you will see zero from it.

So why not build your own platform with your own website and offer the complete range of content to your followers to continue earning, even while you take a holiday? This requires a very sophisticated system with a lot of tools. And guess what, we built that system and all of those tools.

With VXPages, models can even sell all of the video and cam content from VISIT-X on their site so they don’t have to depend on their own content, they can monetize their followers as the platforms do, but under their personal brand.

Having your own website comes with responsibility, but also gives you the freedom of creating the content that fits you. For sure, you need to be serious about it as success will not just fall from the sky. To set up your business takes time to invest but you’ve already invested so much time into building your social brand, right?

We believe that models today will understand this more and more and will be ready to invest that time. We help them in learning more about how the industry works, how to market their content, how to sell, and how to be successful in the long run.

Having a website is the next step in many models’ careers and can form a business for their entire life.

XBIZ: How does VXPages compare to other content management tools, as far as its features?

Tauber: VXPages was built specifically for the adult industry. It is compliant with European and U.S. regulations out of the box and models will not have to expose their personal info; their complete business will be covered by VXPages.

In one day, models can have a fully functioning website dedicated to their fans, with the ability to sell content, live stream, DM with fans, create subscriptions, run a blog and more, all deeply customized to their needs, making VXPages the most professional CMS in the adult industry.

Together with integrated marketing tools like creating promo vouchers, sending out newsletter campaigns, having a custom admin panel, and getting detailed statistical insights to be able to improve your business, VXPages offers a huge toolbox with a wide range of features.

And because it is made for the adult business, users avoid the problems that can happen when using a mainstream CMS for porn.

XBIZ: Walk us through the initial setup process for a new model joining VXPages and how the platform plans to grow alongside them to meet future needs.

Tauber: The first step is to register a free model account on VXPages.com. Then, create a profile, upload some content, or start building your page directly.

Many tutorials can be found on our official VXPages’ YouTube channel. Our model coach, well-known industry veteran Nikki Night, gives training sessions for VXPages’ model community on best practices in website building, social marketing, building funnels that work, and so on.

You can start your VXPage with a low investment of time and just use some features. As you grow, our system is already standing by your side and ready to support your future business needs.

XBIZ: Do the various VXPages sites rely on the same basic design, or can models customize them to better fit their personality?

Tauber: We have beautiful templates that are ready-to-go and highly recommended for models that cannot invest much time and just want to start. If you want to have it customized, you can switch to our expert mode, where users can fully customize the design with CSS code to do almost anything they want. There are also independent service providers and designers that work with VXPages and offer professional designs for models.

XBIZ: What types of stats do you make available to models to help them market their business?

Tauber: Statistics are available in the model’s admin, with a full view of homepage business data; including how many visits occurred in a given period, along with how many signups, transactions, credit purchases, subscriptions, upsells, etc. were made.

Models can also very easily connect their Google Analytics account to their VXPages homepage and use this data to analyze their content and marketing campaigns on a professional level.

XBIZ: How can models find the help they need to design, build and profit from their VXPages site?

Tauber: We provide frequently updated tutorial videos and we have a best practices section, while our coach Nikki is running sessions for all interested VXPages models. If we sign an individual influencer deal, it includes a personal Account Manager and the possibility of a free professional custom design.

XBIZ: In what ways does VXPages empower models to drive more traffic to their pages, in order to expand their audience?

Tauber: With the VXPages toolbox, models will be able to offer multiple services and business options around their own content.

You have access to a bunch of tools that will transport your brand-building to your audience. By having a professional-looking, official homepage that includes not only a bio and some images, but professional monetization features as well, you will show your audience that “I am a brand. I run my own business!”

We believe this is a big difference between Model A, who might have a lot of followers, but no official homepage; and Model B that has a visible brand, a logo — and a website. Model A will be still seen as a content producer for platforms, but Model B has become a visible brand.

Our models can optionally get customers from the VISIT-X platform and double-sell their content and live cam shows for additional traffic and earnings.

XBIZ: Vouchers seem like a unique tool on VXPages; how do they work and how can models use them to make more money?

Tauber: On VXPages, we have a configurator that can create a voucher for almost any type of offer — such as giving away free credits or free content on registration; or teasing regular customers with a credit bonus; a special flat rate on direct messaging; or whatever else a model wants to promote.

Vouchers are a great way to push registrations, increase spending or bring inactive fans back to your homepage. Of course, you can also show your appreciation to your most loyal fans with a voucher.

XBIZ: How does VXPages integrate their live-streaming functionality with cam services that models may already be using? How flexible are the show rules, i.e. is nudity allowed in free chat or restricted to paid shows?

Tauber: The main live cam mode on VXPages is a pay-per-minute, one-on-one show. Most of the models don’t have the traffic power to have enough viewers in a free chat on their own page to generate enough tips or activity for solid earnings, so they can use the live cam option differently … as a very exclusive premium chat experience for their most valuable fans.

You will be able to set your price per-minute and there are multiple features in our camming software for different scenarios with your chat users. In your paid shows, you can do what you want — as long as you keep it legal.

XBIZ: What type of camming software does the platform use and what are its benefits compared to other tools such as OBS?

Tauber: We use our own camming software from the VISIT-X cam platform, available in two versions: either to install as software on a PC or simply to run in a browser.

The software is very optimized and is a result of more than 20 years as a top camming platform in the industry. Models can even combine our camming software with OBS if they need more flexibility.

XBIZ: How technically savvy do models need to be to use VXPages? Do they need any special equipment or coding skills?

Tauber: VXPages’ homepages work right out of the box so models don’t need any special skills. Of course, the more professional they want to get, the more knowledge they need to help them along their way.

For example, if you want to have a custom theme, you have the freedom of using CSS. If you don’t have the necessary skills, there are many service providers that we can recommend to you.

Models should have a PC to use the homepage creator. Of course, their equipment needs might grow along with their revenue expectations.

XBIZ: Are tipping and recurring payments supported? What type of subscription options does VXPages offer, and do you handle all of the billing and customer services?

Tauber: VXPages handles all of the billing and customer services for a model’s homepage, with a subscription configurator that can create almost any type of subscription-based business, from content sales to messaging at flat rates.

Models can receive tips from their fans in the built-in messenger or sell custom packages and put in any service they like. Or just call it “tribute” for femdoms who want to offer fetish games.

XBIZ: It seems that a growing number of models are interested in crypto payouts. Do you have plans to offer these or other payout mechanisms, such as PayPal?

Tauber: Most of our models want to build a stable business that will last for years; and if you take it seriously, you might want to avoid the risk of getting into problems with your given tax authority. As a company, we stand for safe and compliant business practices. Having payouts in crypto still has some uncertain risks in terms of taxes and different regulations for different countries.

PayPal does not officially accept adult transactions, so if you work with a platform that offers payout via PayPal, you should be aware of the risk of losing your money.

As for what the future holds for VXPages and the independent models it works with, Head of Business Development Ruxandra Tataru teased that the company is working on improving the mobile usability of its tools for models and is offering special deals for select models via email at ruxandra@VXPages.com or via Skype at Ruxandra_45.
