The Importance of Time Management for Models

The Importance of Time Management for Models

How do I get more tips? How do I know when to jump on cam? How long should I be on cam for? When you first start camming, figuring out the answers can feel overwhelming. There are apps, bots and rooms with thousands of users. It's intimidating... but one secret to being a successful cam model is creating a schedule.

Having a specific time that your fans know you will be online is important. I have been camming on Chaturbate as Artemisfit for around two years. After a year of testing different times, camming every day for hours and having zero personal life, I finally found my current camming schedule.

Look at your income streams and what brings you the most profit. Is it camming, private shows, your fan club or social media? Put the most time and energy into that.

I cam Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. (EST). After a lot of trial and error, I found this schedule not only works for my mental health, but also makes me the most income. Here are some tips and tricks I have learned along the way that I am happy to pass on to other broadcasters.

FIND YOUR STRENGTH

When you first set out to find the right camming schedule, it's important to focus on your strengths. Are you talkative and do you love interacting with your chat? Then you will need to adapt your schedule to regions that speak the same language as you. Are you extremely sexual and do more non-verbal communication? Then focus on one region and time zone where that audience is ready to unwind and get freaky with you. Do you like doing shorter, more intense streams? Or longer teases? Find what you are good at and focus on that market.

TEST DIFFERENT TIMES

Before I settled on my current schedule, I tested many different days and times and tracked exactly how much I made during each show. Using this data, I was able to find when my biggest supporters and highest tippers were online and created my schedule around them. Don’t just try Mondays once and rule it out. Cam on Mondays for a month so you can attract regulars and then compare that to your shows on other days. Don’t just do it once and expect results. Testing different times and days can also help increase your brand awareness and help you gain new fans. I still cam on random days and times and always pick up new followers. Even if they can’t make it to my regular showtimes, they might still follow me on Twitter or subscribe to my OnlyFans.

LISTEN TO YOUR BODY

It’s also important to test what times work best for you and your body. Track your circadian rhythm, the natural process that regulates the sleep-wake cycle and repeats roughly every 24 hours. How do you feel throughout the day? When are you tired? When do you have the most energy? When are you horny? When do you have low energy? Plan your cam schedule around your body so you are set up for success.

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY IS KEY

When I first started camming, I thought the more you cammed, the more tips you would receive. However, I found that to be far from the truth. I used to cam seven days a week for hours at a time. I was exhausted, had no personal life and the quality of my shows started to deteriorate. I also wasn’t out living my life, so I had no stories or fun memories to talk about when I was on cam. For me, it turned out that the shorter the shows I did, the more energized and profitable they were. I found it was better to have an amazing four-hour show than a longer show where I would run out of steam. Find out what works for you.

BE CONSISTENT

Once you find the right camming schedule for your tippers, your body, and your mind, it's important to stick to it. Being consistent shows that you are serious about camming, that you can be trusted, and that your fans can give you that consistency back. Your fans may plan their days, their vacations, and their lives around your cam shows so it’s important to be respectful of their time and show up for them when you promise. If you say you’re going to be on at 8 p.m., make sure to always be online right at 8 p.m.

The more people you have in your room at the beginning of the show, the quicker it will be boosted to the Chaturbate front page and the bigger your show will be. It’s important to get a lot of people in your room right when you get online, and if you are always on at the same time on the same days, your fans will be there with you.

FOCUS ON WHAT MAKES YOU MONEY

Time management is a key factor in having a camming schedule. Look at your income streams and what brings you the most profit. Is it camming, private shows, your fan club or social media? Put the most time and energy into that. Personally, camming brings me the majority of my income, so I make sure I put other tasks aside and recharge and rest before each show. If you get bogged down by responding to DMs or posting on social media and then are exhausted when it comes to your cam shows, that is not sustainable. How much you support me, is how much attention I will give you. Attention and energy is what you are offering your fans and that is what they are paying for. Use your energy wisely.

DON’T BE AFRAID OF TAKING BREAKS

I used to be scared of taking breaks or vacations out of fear that I would lose momentum. I thought if I wasn’t camming every week, my fans would find a new cam model to support; however, that is not the case. It's so, so important to be happy, healthy and have fun on cam. If you dread going on cam, your fans will pick up on it. That's a key sign that you need to take a break. I took a three-month break from consistent camming earlier this year and I felt so rejuvenated. I was so excited to come back to cam and had so many new ideas. Remember, your fans want you to be happy and will always support you when you come back.

REPEAT. REPEAT. REPEAT.

I read once that a person doesn’t retain information until they have heard it for the third time. Considering this theory, I make sure to put my schedule everywhere: in my Chaturbate bio, pinned to my Twitter page, on my Discord, in my cam room chat, in the graphic at the end of my cam shows — literally everywhere. This way my fans and users can easily see my schedule in several different places. I use Canva.com and its easy templates to create calendars and graphics I can use across all of my platforms so my camming schedule is always easy to find.

Camming can be overwhelming, but it’s rewarding to have an online community that shows up and supports you. Once you find your schedule and groove, that’s when the fun starts. Come join me for one of my shows!
