Jerry Davies Invents New Niche With 'Balldo' Wearable Couples' Toy

The pleasure sector has successfully engineered an orgasm for just about every body part. The nipplegasm, the buttgasm, and even the skingasm are terms often tossed around by modern sex educators, but apparently we've long overlooked a more obvious organ that's hankering for a climax.

Meet the Balldo, a curious (and initially confusing) couples sex toy that brings partnered pleasure from where-the-sun-don't-shine out into the spotlight.

We've long overlooked a more obvious organ that's hankering for a climax.

Balldo is a stretchy, silicone device made to fit comfortably over the testicles, essentially turning the wearer's balls into a secondary penetrative tool with a stiff, phallic shape.

A super-strong inner core allows the Balldo to maintain rigidity while thrusting, ensuring the wearer's “ball dong” stays erect during penetration. The Balldo's tip is roughly the width of the average penis and features a tapered end, allowing the wearer to insert their normally squishy testicles into a partner's vagina or anus, somewhat similarly to a penis cage.

If Balldo sounds a bit too much like a gimmicky novelty product, consider this: when the company launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo in March 2021, consumers demonstrated their enthusiasm for the idea by funding Balldo's production in 10 hours.

“I say it was a ‘Eureka!’ moment,” says Jerry Davies, the Balldo's co-creator and CEO of Nadgerz Inc. “I have a 'no limits' mind and so I will explore ideas that others may not. I constantly seek critique for my ideas to check if I'm way off the mark, but I think with Balldo and ‘ball sex,’ we have definitely carved out a new niche.”

While Davies admits that “ball sex” and its intended achievement, the 'ballgasm,' will likely take a fair amount of time to catch on, he's intensely positive about Balldo's potential to fly off shelves.

Davies created the Balldo in cooperation with fellow entrepreneur Ellie Plascencia, a colleague with whom he has engineered a multitude of mainstream consumer products. However, Davies says, the pandemic put a giant wrench in the pair's plans to launch Balldo in 2020, as potential investors stepped back in lieu of safer bets.

Post-crowdfunding, and with the pandemic becoming the new norm, Balldo has since bounced back, Davies said.

“Between April [2021] and now, we have been learning the ropes of manufacturing and shipping,” says Davies. “We are finally shipping product to our Indiegogo customers and we have also cut deals with distributors around the globe to carry the product.”

Davies says Nadgerz Inc. has already partnered with Entrenue, EDC Wholesale and AADP to continue Balldo's momentum. But business details aside, what the heck is ball sex, and why should retailers buy into Davies' wild claims about “ballgasms?”

“I was aware of people using their balls in penetrative sex, but it just looks so awkward and painful,” explains Davies. “People traditionally do it by either using two or more cock rings behind the balls or by wrapping leather or rubber around the skin above the balls to make them stick out enough for penetration.”

“This method is very hard [for] penetration and can also be painful,” continues Davies. “I found that if I put a cage around the balls with a built-in support core, it was easy to take on and off, and the tip and extra length made it easy to penetrate.”

Davies tells XBIZ that the Balldo is stretchy (and comfortable) enough to fit testicles of most sizes, eliminating the pain factor. Additional silicone spacer rings help brace the Balldo against the groin, keeping it erect like a penis during thrusting.

“We spent a lot of time working out a way to make it rigid in the thrusting direction, but elastic in the lateral direction to make it easy to get on and off,” says Davies. “This had to be combined with choosing a grade of silicone which was the perfect [combination of] hardness and elasticity to facilitate this.”

According to Balldo's website, comfortably slipping in and out of the wearable device involves three steps. Balldo.com suggests first shaving the balls to prevent hair tugging and to increase sensation for both partners. Then, stretch Balldo's elastic neck over the testicles, followed by Balldo's spacer rings for added rigidity.

“The standard Balldo set comes with a Balldo and two spacer rings, so that the wearer can experiment with different lengths and work with the elasticity of their scrotum,” Davies explains.

“You are probably thinking that all sounds painful, but it isn't,” he pointedly adds. “That was one of the first, major tester checks we did before exploring the idea of commercializing the product.”

The end result is a “ballgasm,” which Davies describes as a penile ejaculation triggered by stimulation of the nerve endings in the testicle skin.

Davies says this type of climax is enhanced as the Balldo presses against the base of the penis — and by the sheer joy of using one's balls for penetrative sex.

“This orgasm is prolonged and is further pronounced by the penis just hanging around in the air, but [with] the balls inside, [it] makes it feel like the penis is [also] inside,” he highlights. “It's very confusing, but very good!”

With most of the production hurdles out of the way, Davies says that the Balldo is now shipping and immediately available to retailers worldwide. He credits Balldo's initial buzz and subsequent attention to the pleasure industry's tight-knit community.

“One thing we did without regret was attend the ANME/XBIZ show in January, just as our campaign launched,” Davies recalls. “This got us in front of all the people we are now cutting deals with and, as a result, we have managed to forge the right relationships. One thing I keep saying to people about the adult B2B space is what a bunch of super helpful and awesome people [are a part of it]!”

Solidifying their integration into sex toy wholesale, Team Balldo recently tapped industry veteran Jeff Dillon as vice president of marketing. After years in the adult space, Dillon says he was impressed with Davies' innovation and the potential to create a new product category.

“Most people already know about penis and prostate orgasms,” says Dillon, “but the ballgasm is a third way men can have an orgasm, which is very intriguing, exciting and novel for most men and couples.

“We are looking forward to becoming the next big industry niche, eventually becoming as popular as anal play,” Dillon muses of the future. “Once men discover the pleasure of having an orgasm, aka ballgasm, triggered with their balls, Balldo is sure to be a hit.”

Davies reveals that the original Balldo is soon to be followed by a vibrating version with app capabilities and plenty of other new product releases he's keeping secret for now. In the meantime, he says, Balldo.com will be updated consistently with sex and product education to keep consumers intrigued, including how-to content from adult performers.

“It's basically just a matter of maybe five years or so before ‘Joe Average’ tries ‘ball sex ‘with his wife, husband or lover, as they would maybe try anal,” concludes Davies. “If people can do it, they'll do it! And they'll look towards using a Balldo to make it happen.”
