Private shows can seem intimidating, especially for newer cam models. Even when you’ve been in the industry for a while, keeping customers coming back for more is still one of the biggest challenges. You may wonder what to do, how exactly to best interact with the user one-on-one, how to personalize the show and more.
The magic word is “intimacy.” The No. 1 way to engage fans in a private show and turn them into returning customers, is to create a feeling of intimacy during the session.
Depending on the platform you’re using, you might have different private options, such as cam2cam or private request menus where you can include special activities that you’re willing to perform in this type of show. You may even be able to record your end of the show, offering a great additional revenue source via clips later.
So then, let’s get into how you can cultivate intimacy during a show.
Call Them by Their Name
By this, I don’t mean you should call them “BigDick69.” The first thing I suggest you do when starting the private show is ask your customer for their name or what they’d like to be called. Maybe they do prefer their BigDick69 username, but always ask! Remember that this shouldn’t be a simple model/user session; it’s a special encounter between the two people behind the model and username — or at least, that’s the illusion you must create. By addressing them in a more personal way, you make them feel closer to you. Note that some users might not want you to address them by their real name, but instead by pet names such as “baby” or “honey.”
Make Eye Contact
When you have to be glancing over the monitor regularly to keep an eye on what the user is doing or typing, it can be easy to forget to make eye contact with them. So make sure not to overlook this part, as it’s one of the keys to building closeness. The good thing is, to make eye contact with your customer you don’t even have to look at them at all; you just have to make “eye contact” with your cam lens.
Create Bonds
Having a personal connection helps your viewers relate to you and keep coming to your room, and there’s no better way to connect with someone than finding common ground with them. Let’s say you’re in a cam2cam with your customer and see a photo of the Empire State Building on their wall. What you want to do is say something like, “Oh wow, I see you’ve been to New York. Me too! I’ve been there once and absolutely loved it.” You can apply this logic to anything you see or notice. If they’re from Germany, greet them in their language and add, “I hope I said it right. I always wanted to learn German.” You get the gist.
Be Present
The more private shows you do, the easier it is to fall into a routine. However, if you want to create intimacy, personalizing your shows is the answer. Pay constant attention to what your customer is doing, and be sure to react to everything they do or say. This way, you show them that you’re engaged, present and interested in the show with them.
Get to Know Them
There’s no way to personalize your private show without knowing your customer. This requires time and more than just one show, and you must start gathering information from the very first minute.
Unsurprisingly, not all members are seeking online sex. Some are looking for emotional ties while others just want someone to unleash their secret kinks with. So the first step is asking them what they’re interested in and what they expect from the show. Test the waters and see what they’re into. Show interest in getting to know them, as this will make them feel special and give you the insights you need to keep building closeness with them.
Remember the Details
This pro tip applies to your second show with the customer: surprise them by remembering your first show with them. After your first private show with a user, do your homework by jotting down things you learned about them, or simply what happened in the show. Showing that you remember their name, role-play ideas, kinks, toy preferences, etc., is what will really seal the deal for them to become your regular customer.
