Q&A: Cassie Curses Reflects on Vibrant Premium Social Media Career

Cassie Curses likes to bless her premium social media timeline with a blend of goth vibes, girl-next-door warmth and inked curves. What really drives her business, though, is a dedication to fulfilling her dreams and pressing on through any challenge.

“I spent much of my childhood growing up in Mexico and I moved to California as a teenager,” Curses shared. “I am not one to say that my childhood was more difficult than anyone else’s, but I had my share of hardships. Overall, it left me with an ingrained sense of ambition and a thick skin.

I can’t say I’m smarter than the next person, but I’ve always had this drive to attain what I want

“I can’t say I’m smarter than the next person, but I’ve always had this drive to attain what I want,” she emphasized.

Fast-forward to the present. Curses now boasts nearly half a million likes on OnlyFans and more than 300,000 followers across Twitter, TikTok and Instagram.

She also has a flashy new XBIZ Cam Awards trophy adorning her shelf, after winning Best Female Premium Social Media Star this summer at XBIZ Miami, where she also shared insights as a panelist.

As she seeks ever higher levels of success and happiness, Curses shares her story, lessons learned and career advice in this exclusive Creator of the Month interview.

XBIZ: Discuss how your skills, perspective and identity have developed since entering the adult industry.

CURSES: Working in the adult industry wasn’t some sort of master plan I always had; it kind of just developed into that. I’ve always been sexual by nature; I was inspired by watching porn, touching myself and enjoying how it made me feel after a stressful day.

I wondered how awesome it would be to make tons of people cum too. I began with simple sexy photos on various platforms just for fun. I started to monetize it and in time, it grew into what it is today.

Over the years, I think I’ve become more business-savvy in regards to the industry. And of course, I thrive on the attention.

XBIZ: Which platforms are you most active on and what kind of content do you most frequently sell?

CURSES: I am most active on Instagram, Twitter, OnlyFans and FanCentro. I have an account on almost every platform imaginable.

I’m not sure how I would describe my genre or style. I try to cater to a wide audience. I dabble in cosplay and role-play. I have niche groups of followers on my paid sites for categories like femdom. My public sites such as Instagram and Twitter are for everyone — anyone will find something they like.

XBIZ: What is the “Cassie Curses” brand? What inspired your look, personality and name?

CURSES: The “Cassie Curses” name is something I came up with on a whim. There’s not a real story or deeper meaning to it. Regardless, I think the name is original and easy to remember. Originally, my content leaned towards my tattoos and goth style, but I’ve branched out to a more all-inclusive spectrum. I want to appeal to a large group of people.

XBIZ: Describe your approach to safe-for-work content on channels like Twitch, YouTube and TikTok.

CURSES: I am not as active on safe-for-work sites as I would like to be. As I am sexual by nature, it’s difficult for me to create strictly safe-for-work content. It’s easier for me to be naked than clothed. I love TikTok and post there fairly regularly. I have Twitch and YouTube accounts too, but I focus more time and energy on my paid platforms.

XBIZ: How do you engage fans on social media, while also funneling traffic to your premium sites?

CURSES: I try to engage everyone. Obviously, there’s only so many hours in the day and I can’t respond to everyone. But I am big on customer service. First impressions mean a lot and if my interaction with fans will lead them to my premium sites, it’s worth the time and effort. I try to share some of my personal day-to-day life, but of course I always find my way to posting sexy selfies, replying to comments and tempting the boys!

XBIZ: Talk about your time management skills for juggling so many responsibilities.

CURSES: Time management is huge. Time is money. I treat my content creation like a real job, in that I try to stick to a set schedule. I dedicate a set amount of time to content creation, video editing, fan interaction and livestreams. My days frequently begin at 7 or 9 a.m. and end late in the evening, with some breaks in between, of course. I try to give myself a “normal” weekend. I am my own boss, so when something unexpected arises, it’s easy for me to shuffle things around. Admittedly, I put a lot of pressure on myself to be productive.

XBIZ: Whom do you admire or draw inspiration from in the industry?

CURSES: Oh, where to start? There are a lot of people out there I admire; I’m not sure I could list them all. Karmen Karma is someone I’ve had the opportunity to work with before. I appreciate her work ethic and drive — it seems like she is always hustling and that’s something I really admire. I feel like I connect well with people who have the same attitude and ambition as I do.

XBIZ: What was it like winning Best Female Premium Social Media Star at the 2022 XBIZ Cam Awards?

CURSES: Amazing. And unexpected. I felt like I deserved it, but wasn’t sure if I was actually going to win. I was up against some great creators. I wish my award speech was better — I just wasn’t prepared for it. I was an excited wreck!

It is a massive personal achievement for me. It is something I am very proud of as it validates all the hard work I’ve put into myself and proves how much my followers support me. I am grateful to all my fans who helped make it happen — I don’t think I could thank them enough.

XBIZ: What are you focusing on as the next step in your career? What's on your vision board?

CURSES: Growth, to put it simply. The industry is big, which means the sky’s the limit. But it also means I need to continue working towards expansion. In a perfect world, I’d create more content, seek out more creators to collaborate with and find more ways to diversify my content. My fans deserve fresh and original content and I plan on striving towards that.

How to Halt Hackers as Fraud Attacks Rise

For hackers, it’s often a game of trial and error. Bad actors will perform enumeration and account testing, repeating the same test on a system to look for vulnerabilities — and if you are not equipped with the proper tools, your merchant account could be the next target.

Account-to-Account Payments: The New Banking Disruptor?

So much of our industry relies upon Visa and Mastercard to support consumer payments — and with that reliance comes increased scrutiny by both brands. From a compliance perspective, the bar keeps getting raised until it feels like we end up spending half our time making sure we are compliant rather than growing our business.
