Q&A: Lana Wolf Rises as Alpha Creator of Scotland

Q&A: Lana Wolf Rises as Alpha Creator of Scotland

Before Lana Wolf gained notoriety in the Scottish press as an OnlyFans creator with a penchant for sports-themed spicy content that is especially pleasing to her fellow Rangers FC fans, she was studying French and Spanish at university. Once she turned 18 and went to Mallorca to work, within three weeks she was scouted to become a stripper in Magaluf.

“The funniest thing was, back then I didn’t even own a pair of matching underwear,” she recalled, “so I had to go buy some, and heels as well, so I could work in the strip club. How things are different now!”

I see myself as relatable; I don’t take myself too seriously and I love making my fans laugh on my social media. I’m also a dominatrix, so my style varies from football fashion to full latex.

In just seven days, she became one of the top three earners at the strip club and immediately felt hooked on sex work. When she returned to her studies, she worked in strip clubs on weekends while also camming and selling photo sets. After graduating, she continued her exotic dancing career in Tenerife and New York.

“As soon as I found out about OnlyFans, I signed up, so I was already established when it boomed during lockdown,” Wolf explained.

Sure enough, her stardom exploded, with her penchant for role-played pegging of Rangers sports rival Celtic FC adding fuel to the local media fire. Virality ensued, boosting her online traffic. With over 100,000 followers on Twitter and 170,000 likes on OnlyFans, she has gone on to win a 2022 XBIZ Europas award; she was crowned Premium Social Media Star of the Year at this year’s lavish ceremony in the heart of Berlin.

Now, as Creator of the Month, she sheds light on her aspirations, tradecraft and dreams in this exclusive interview.

XBIZ: What are a few of the biggest lessons you've learned as a creator?

WOLF: The biggest is how important it is to take ownership of my career and success. Being my own boss means I have to be strict with myself and motivate myself to work, because nobody else is going to do it for me! I’ve learned that I am more productive and work best when I am around other people, be it domestic slaves, photographers or other creators, so I keep myself busy with arranging collabs and photoshoots.

I’ve also learned the importance of regular uploads across different platforms and posting about popular topics in order to stay relevant in the public eye, as I definitely notice a difference in my income when I am less active across my platforms.

I have implemented a good routine at home now and I have online traditions such as “Lana’s Halftime Tits” on Twitter and a new domination video on OnlyFans every time there’s an Old Firm game in Glasgow. Having these staples for my brand is great for keeping me motivated and helping me stick to a routine.

XBIZ: How did you achieve your reputation as “Scotland's No. 1 OnlyFans Star,” as your profile states?

WOLF: It was due to my viral football-themed porn videos. My most viral videos are “The Old Firm Orgy” and “Pegging the Celtic slave.” I play on the rivalry between Rangers FC and Celtic FC to create funny porn videos that go viral on WhatsApp groups. I also have a good relationship with the Scottish media and am regularly in the tabloids and newspapers.

XBIZ: Discuss your collabs with other creators. How do you approach co-creating, consent and business agreements?

WOLF: Regarding my collabs, nowadays I honestly usually carry model release forms with me at all times, just in case! And I’ll use the ones the websites want me to use, so I’ll make people sign multiple ones. This is in case websites change their rules down the line, to where you need to use their own contract. This has happened recently with OnlyFans, whereby they insist you use the OnlyFans contract. I also have an app on my phone called Easy Release, which is better than nothing if you get caught off guard and don’t have your contracts with you. I recommend this app for how convenient it is and ManyVids accepts their model releases.

XBIZ: What are the main revenue streams you pursue and what kind of content sells best for you?

WOLF: My main platform is OnlyFans because I focus on amateur content when it comes to sex videos. I have ManyVids for my more pro-amateur-feel content, but I don’t upload there very regularly. I sell POV content on OnlyFans that is shot in portrait mode rather than landscape, so the viewer can imagine it’s them, or that it’s shot on their own phone. Sometimes I even put a Snapchat filter on it! I think it creates a closeness between me and the viewer. But I make sure it’s shot in HD and it’s well lit. Sometimes I use a professional hand-held lighting rig and sometimes I just use a flash on my phone. I’ve perfected the “high-quality but amateur-feeling” content. My domination videos are usually filmed more pro-am.

XBIZ: How would you describe your brand in terms of your personality, overall style and what you're known for?

WOLF: My brand has developed a lot over the years. Nowadays, I’m most known for being the one and only Glasgow Rangers porn star. I see myself as relatable; I don’t take myself too seriously, and I love making my fans laugh on my social media. I’m also a dominatrix, so my style varies from football fashion to full latex. In porn, I am known for my huge natural boobs and making football-themed content, in particular pegging Celtic FC fans while I’m in a Rangers kit. People know I live in a big house with its own dungeon, which they call “Wolf Manor,” and my glow-in-the-dark, bright blue strap-on named “King Billy” is also very famous in Scotland.

XBIZ: Talk about your strategy for balancing work with your personal life.

WOLF: I think it’s really important to have a good work/life balance. Doing this job gives me a lot of freedom to choose when and where I work, so I can choose my hours and travel anytime, which I love. In my free time I’m just a regular girl! I play football, I go watch my beloved Rangers, I spend time with family and friends and I love just relaxing at home. It’s important to have downtime as well, away from my phone and social media, so I make sure I set aside “me time.”

XBIZ: Has your social media growth impacted how you operate or how you interact with fans?

WOLF: My social media has grown a lot over the years, from barely nothing to tens of thousands of followers and fans. I currently have no management or agency and I’m totally freelance. I’ve worked really hard for what I have and I’m really proud of what I’ve built on my own. I still find it surreal getting recognized in public! I always love getting selfies with fans and I love to interact with my fans on my social media.

XBIZ: What was it like winning Premium Social Media Star of the Year at the 2022 XBIZ Europa Awards?

WOLF: Because I have worked really hard to get to where I am, to be recognized and nominated was a huge honor. I was up against some really big names in the industry, so to be voted Premium Social Media Star of the Year was such an amazing feeling and winning was such a proud moment for me. However, if it wasn’t for the support of my fans, who I call the Lana Loyal, I wouldn’t have made it to where I am today and I wouldn’t have even been nominated, let alone won. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for me, it honestly means the world.

XBIZ: Discuss your most exciting plans for the coming year.

WOLF: I have two content trips planned for November and one for December. Also, at the start of December I will be filming for a TV documentary which will be shown on Channel 5 sometime next year. When I’m home, I’ll be working on my new series, “Lana Wolf’s A to Z of Domination,” which will debut on my new domination OnlyFans account, “Wolf Manor.”
