Ranked among Pornhub’s top 10 stars, Reislin has amassed millions of fans across social media and premium content platforms. Long before she became a bona fide world-renowned creator, however, she grew up in a small town in Latvia, with a big family but few prospects early on in life.
Studying hard at school and striving for academic excellence earned Reislin a grant to pursue university studies, and she began working toward becoming a lawyer — but after three years of study, her life changed dramatically when she finally acted on what had always been a secret ambition: to become an adult performer.
I’m always trying to find a way to make content that is somewhere between looking ‘more professional than amateur’ and ‘too amateur to be professional.’
Friends in whom she confided about her spicy ambitions often thought she was kidding, but from the very first time Reislin saw porn, she was fascinated and felt there was no turning back. Seeing a performer enjoying wild group sex, she thought, “Damn, I want to be in her shoes when I grow up!”
Dreams do come true, because in a life she describes as filled with unexpected twists of fate, her next twist turned out to be moving to another country to start making porn. That path led, after much hard work, to the stage at Theater Amsterdam this past September where, riding high on a wave of momentum, Reislin ascended the throne as 2023 XBIZ Europas Clip Artist of the Year.
In this Creator of the Month interview, she shares her approach to multifaceted success and discusses what fans most adore about her work.
XBIZ: Tell us about your approach to content creation, and how it has evolved since you started.
Reislin: I’m always trying to find a way to make content that is somewhere between looking “more professional than amateur” and “too amateur to be professional.” I find that the content I’ve been filming in the last two years is very different from where I started.
To be honest, I hate my old videos and wish I’d never see them again! I am talking about videos that I made only four to five years ago, so I guess that shows how much I’ve grown. I started out shooting on my phone and, in a few years, I had tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment.
Ironically, I’m now back to shooting on my phone quite a lot again! But today’s phones really do film just as well as video cameras. It’s amazing. Also, my ex-husband used to edit and film content and I wasn’t always happy with the results, but now I make content that I personally enjoy, first and foremost.
XBIZ: Tell us about your tech. What hardware and software do you favor?
Reislin: If we’re talking about actual cameras, it’s always Sony. For lights it’s Aputure, and for microphones it’s RØDE. I replace them with newer versions whenever much better ones comes along.
If the content is shot on a professional camera, I use DaVinci Resolve for editing. I really like the functionality of this app — especially if you’re shooting in logarithmic profile, it’s just a must-have. It’s not the easiest app to use, but it’s really worth it. For me, it’s like gaining an additional professional skill.
If I use my phone to shoot content, I usually use the default iPhone camera settings. I think that’s what most creators do.
XBIZ: How do you approach collabs with fellow talent, and what are a few recent ones that fans loved?
Reislin: I have rarely done collaborations, but now I feel like I’d like to do more content with other creators and feel more integrated in the industry. I met a lot of really awesome people at XBIZ Amsterdam and I can’t wait to work with them and create really hot content.
One of my last videos was a boy/girl shoot with Girthmaster. It was my first B/G video after a really long break so I felt really shy and innocent at the beginning, but it was so much fun. I really love how it turned out!
This year, I’ve been making a lot of videos with couples. I don’t know why, but it’s really easy for me to work with them and I’m always willing to be a third. At the beginning of the year, I had a really wonderful collaboration with Christian Clay and Agatha Vega — and of course, I can’t fail to mention my B/G/G video with the most popular Pornhub amateur couple, LeoLulu. It was a really great start to the year!
Most recently, I had a collaboration with a lovely couple from America: Cami Strella and Lev Lieben. It was a real pleasure to work with them. But the year isn’t over yet, so maybe some other hot couple will invite me to get between their hot bodies. If it’s two hot guys, I wouldn’t mind either!
XBIZ: What kind of clips do your fans most often demand?
Reislin: My fans want to see more videos with male creators. They want more new dicks inside me! I don’t know why, but content with other girls isn’t that popular among my own fans.
XBIZ: How do you stay on top of marketing across social media?
Reislin: I don’t do everything myself. There are things that only I do, and I have a team that helps me accomplish all the other tasks. Being productive means being able to properly delegate. When you’re a beginner creator it’s easier to do everything yourself, but as your audience grows it becomes impossible.
That’s why I’ve said and will continue to say to other creators: Don’t be afraid to ask for help and don’t be afraid to trust someone else with some of your work. Sometimes it’s better than ending up burned out and with a constant feeling of anxiety.
XBIZ: When you’re not working, how do you stay healthy and happy?
Reislin: I try to understand what I really want and what my body wants. Sometimes what you really need is to just lie on the couch, read something or watch a funny TV show without blaming yourself for “wasting” time.
I work out at the gym regularly, eat healthy food — because I like it — and pamper my body with massages. I also don’t forget about sessions with a psychologist. The body is inseparable from the psyche. A healthy body starts with a healthy mind.
Things that make me really happy are delicious food, traveling and spending time with my close friends. When I’m feeling sad, I just invite my friends over and we drink tea, watch funny videos and talk a lot. Best time ever!
XBIZ: What was it like being named 2023 XBIZ Clip Artist of the Year?
Reislin: It was very unexpected! I had won Best Female Clip Artist at the 2020 XBIZ Cam Awards in Miami and I didn’t think I would win an award again — or at least not at the XBIZ Europa Awards. So I didn’t even prepare a speech, and while I was walking to the stage the only thing I was thinking about was not falling down, because my seat was really far away from the stage and my dress was pretty short! I was so happy and confused, I could barely speak. If I could go back in time, I would say something like “I’m really grateful to my fans and all the people who supported and voted for me. Together we made my dream come true.”
XBIZ: Tell us what your big goals are for 2024 and beyond.
Reislin: In 2024 I want to make even more hot content with other creators. 2023 was really hard for me, but hopefully in the new year I can be more productive and open to new ideas and projects. I also plan to shoot some professional scenes for a few porn studios. I think my fans will be very happy to see a different side of me. This will be a really new and interesting experience for me as I have only shot amateur content before. Maybe it will open up new categories for me in XBIZ nominations!
If we’re talking about other big goals, I’m looking for personal and business ideas to fulfill my potential outside of porn as well. I already have a few startup ideas and am in the process of acting upon them. Since I studied law before porn, sometimes I have thoughts of continuing my studies and becoming a lawyer who specializes in the problems that arise in the adult industry. I would like to help other creators and make the porn industry safer. No matter what, I hope to see you all next year at another XBIZ show!
