For as long as he can remember, Johnny Bravo says, he was always obsessed with sex. Though he never dreamt of becoming a porn star, he knew that he wanted a highly sexual life, and his determination to figure out how to please a woman made him well-regarded by his sexual partners.
An apprenticeship in civil engineering led him to a construction career, but even when he was able to set up his own company and earn more, he had no real love for that work. He was never truly sure of what he wanted to do, until opportunity arose from an unexpected direction.
I love this industry and always defend it against those small-minded folk who try to bring it down and disparage the stars involved in it. It has definitely made me a lot more sexually confident and open to different viewpoints.
Having thoroughly explored their strong sexual chemistry together, he and his partner at the time began swinging. Then, to take things to the next level, they tried sharing their sexual adventures online. When they encountered an enthusiastic response, his partner suggested that they monetize their sex life — finally combining business with his true passion, pleasure.
They converted fans from their free swinging site, or who followed them on social media, to paying subscribers. When the couple eventually parted ways romantically, Bravo began growing his own following, until finally the money was good enough to break free from his 9-to-5.
His ascent to popularity reached a new peak when he was crowned Male Clip Artist of the Year at the 2024 XBIZ Europa Awards. Now, as Creator of the Month, Bravo breaks down his approach to creativity and adult industry success.
XBIZ: How has this industry changed you, as a professional and as a person?
BRAVO: When I entered this industry, I had no idea how it all worked. I came in blind, with a partner who had also never done this before. We had no idea what worked, what sold well, how to navigate our sites or social media. So we learned as we went and were lucky to have a product people seemed to want.
I quickly discovered that shooting from just one angle or taking POV shots with a phone wasn’t enough. So I invested into my setup to allow for good lighting and a minimum of two angles, weaving some POV into that. Most of my videos are a minimum of 30 minutes long, with some up to two hours — which is probably overkill, but capturing things very real and raw makes it worth doing.
Once I moved into professional shoots, I developed further understanding of angles and how to work in a lot of different situations and styles. This has transferred over into my personal shoots and brings a better overall product to the fans who subscribe and buy my videos.
I love this industry and always defend it against those small-minded folk who try to bring it down or disparage the stars involved in it. It has definitely made me a lot more sexually confident and open to different viewpoints. There are some crazy kinks out there, and even when it isn’t my thing, I respect everybody’s right to what gets them going.
XBIZ: Discuss your brand and style, and how you keep things authentic and personal.
BRAVO: I try to keep the acting to a minimum! I want to present sex exactly how I enjoy it, and I want all the people I work with to walk away satisfied — not just with the content, but also with my performance. So you always get real, raw content with my personal shoots. If I do any scripted or role-play scenarios, it’s usually because the other performer wants that. For me, I’d rather just capture great sex so my viewers can put themselves in the position of one of us and truly get off to the idea of being there.
The content I’m known for is quite hard, rough and aggressive sex with a high amount of stamina. I incorporate a lot of lift-and-carry and acrobatic positions in my work, which helps show off my strength and abilities. I’m also always open to group scenes with other performers, as everyone brings their own element to the table and I learn a lot from them. I can do more passionate scenes as well. I tend to adapt to the performers I’m working with and what it is they want to achieve.
XBIZ: What are your main sources of revenue and how do you handle the “business” side of being a creator?
BRAVO: My main revenue streams come from my subscription sites — OnlyFans specifically, but I am on others. That is backed up by paid professional shoots, and clip sites such as ManyVids and Clips4Sale. I am in the process of getting videos I can use on my Pornhub account, as that is an untapped source of revenue that I could gain a lot of passive income from. So many people watch free tube sites and would never subscribe to someone’s page, but I want those people to enjoy my content too, even if they don’t get the full-length video.
I do struggle with juggling all these different revenue streams but I try my best to keep on top of editing, uploading and distributing the content I make. I organize everything into folders and label every single video with a number, who’s involved and specific, unique selling points that relate to the content — anal, squirting, rough, creampie, etc. This helps make my content easy to find again.
XBIZ: Do you have a particular regimen for optimal physical and mental health, given the demands of being a creator?
BRAVO: I train at the gym three to four times a week, and that helps keep me physically and mentally healthy. There are a lot of destructive things in this industry that can get on top of you if you let them. It’s never an easy ride mentally, but you learn to cope with all the adversity.
I’m still figuring out work/life balance, though. In one year, I’ve amassed around 300 scenes with about 150-plus performers, through constant shooting with very few breaks. So, it was very much “work, work and work” with little time for normal daily life. However, now I’m starting to slow down with the personal shoots. I’m prioritizing paid shoots and those that are a little different from just a typical boy/girl scenario, and I’m gaining more life balance back as a result.
XBIZ: How do you handle social media marketing?
BRAVO: I gain most of my subs via X.com. I advertise my link at every opportunity to remind people where the good stuff is. I also try not to respond too much on social media because time spent doing that takes away from the time I can spend on fans who actively support my business.
XBIZ: What content are you most passionate about, and what content do your fans seem to enjoy best?
BRAVO: I love creating really rough and dominant scenes that truly push the other performer to their breaking point, the type of content where you create a “safe word” to ensure their safety. I’ve noticed that group scenes sell well, typically multiple guys with one girl — and anything where there is an accidental creampie, whether scripted or real, always seems to sell well. On top of that, I’m known for being able to make women squirt, even those who think they can’t, and my subscribers really love that!
XBIZ: What was it like being named Male Clip Artist of the Year at the 2024 XBIZ Europa Awards?
BRAVO: It was like a dream come true. I was truly gobsmacked, as the lineup of guys who were up for that award was amazing. There were some outstanding male performers in the running, with so much more experience in the industry and with such huge social media followings, that I honestly never expected to win. Having only been in the industry a little over a year, I felt so thankful to have a fan base that respects and enjoys what I create for them. I hope it inspires others to realize what can be achieved if you put your all into something!
XBIZ: What’s next for you in 2025 and in the long term?
BRAVO: I hope to continue giving the industry great content that I can be proud of, to really push the content I have created, and to try to bring some interesting and different scenarios to the content I am planning to create. I am striving to grow my fan base and I’m hoping to have the opportunity to shoot for some big production companies.
My long-term goal is to become a household name, known worldwide to the true lovers of the industry. If there is a male performer you instantly recognize or can immediately picture when someone says their name, I want to be up there with them, to be one of the best in every area possible. There are guys I look up to in different areas of the industry, not as competition but as inspirations. I’d love to gain their respect and be worthy to be mentioned alongside them for what I offer. I won’t stop until I have achieved that.
