Malik Delgaty Lifts, Pounds and Performs With Heart

Malik Delgaty Lifts, Pounds and Performs With Heart

Malik Delgaty is America’s favorite straight gay porn star.

With his “boy next door” good looks, French accent and Adonis build, it’s no shock that this 6-foot-3 Canadian import has become a regular for Men.com — not to mention consistently being the most searched gay porn star over the last few years, an undeniably impressive accomplishment for someone still barely midway through his 20s.

What’s going through my head while I’m performing is: What does the camera see? How can I make the best video possible?

Yet while Delgaty may at first glance seem like just another gay-for-pay porn star, looking a little deeper reveals a young man who defies expectations.

When XBIZ reaches Delgaty in his hometown of Montreal, where he still lives, he pops onto the call clad in athletic wear, and responds to questions directly and without pretense. He gives off a “gentle giant” vibe, not saying much but not holding back either.

“Montreal is a great city,” he says. “But it wasn’t always the best time, when I was growing up. My dad was in jail. My mom was really poor. I grew up with my sister and my grandfather.”

Other struggles informed his early years as well.

“I was bullied,” he shares. “I was a little strange. I went to a lot of different schools because I was always fighting with people.

“When things aren’t going well at your house, it’s hard, at school, to be a good kid,” he reflects. “When I was young, my mom’s boyfriend was violent to her.”

Eventually, Delgaty began to learn self-discipline through studying judo.

“It was an attempt to calm myself,” he recalls. “My judo teacher would come to school to calm me down.”

Martial arts helped Delgaty find structure. He practiced judo for almost 10 years, even winning a few championships. As it turns out, those skills occasionally come in handy in his current line of work as well.

“I feel like judo helps me a lot in porn,” he laughs. “I can lift people and put them in every fucking position I want. No one can control me. And the way I fuck is pretty aggressive, so I probably put a little bit of martial arts in there.”

‘All about acceptance’

A week after turning 18, Delgaty began working as a stripper.

“I didn’t waste a lot of time,” he admits.

While stripping is a fairly common entrée into the adult industry, Delgaty didn’t realize at the time that he was also carrying on a family tradition.

“My dad used to work at the same place, Bar Campus,” he reveals. “I didn’t know he had been a stripper before, but he told me when I started.”

Though he was performing fully nude at the Montreal nightclub, it would be a while before Delgaty took the plunge into actually performing on camera.

“My agent tried for about two years to get me to do porn,” he remembers. “But I’m a straight guy and he was trying to get me into gay porn, so it took a while.

“I’ve always been surrounded by gay people,” he explains. “My best friend since I was 4 years old is a lesbian. Ever since I was 14, all my friends have been gay and lesbian. But it’s hard to do the actual thing. You’re a straight guy, so fucking guys is not easy at the beginning. But being a stripper and surrounded by gay men helped make it easier.”

Telling his family was one of the hard parts, Delgaty shares.

“I let them know before I did anything,” he says. “Nobody was okay with it. My mom was depressed for a few months.”

Despite that initial drama, the situation ultimately resolved itself happily enough.

“Now I’m helping her and my sister, and my grandmother, financially,” he affirms.

These days, Delgaty describes himself this way: “I’m a really open-minded straight guy who doesn’t mind doing gay stuff for money. It’s all about acceptance.”

Besides, in many ways, he has come to feel more comfortable around gay folks.

“Straight people just want to fight and get jealous,” he laughs.

The Fruits of His Labor

When it comes to the work itself, Delgaty is all business.

“I arrive, I get ready and I shoot,” he says simply. “On set, I hang out with the videographer. Because what’s going through my head while I’m performing is: What does the camera see? How can I make the best video possible?

“Then later, I have to think about all of the things it takes to go viral,” he adds.

Those strategies seem to have paid off, earning Delgaty not only a couple of XMAs Gay Performer of the Year nominations — plus a win for Boy/Boy Collab Clip of the Year at the 2025 XMA Creator Awards — but also enabling him to become a bit of an entrepreneur.

“I put a lot of money into the weed business in Canada,” he reveals. “I’m an investor in a weed farm. I also have an asphalt company and I do construction.”

That’s right, a porn star who actually works in construction. So next time he pops on that hard hat, fans can be sure it’s authentic.

Aside from money, adult industry success comes with other perks. Delgaty says he loves traveling and “getting a bit famous.”

“I went from nothing to exploding everywhere and traveling everywhere,” he marvels.

He also enjoys meeting new people all the time.

“All my best friends right now are in the industry,” says Delgaty. “My good friends are Papi Kocic and Fit Filou. They can understand my world. It’s not easy for my friends in Montreal to understand. I can talk to them about everything.”

Teddy Bear With a Cheese Problem

As you might expect, Delgaty is an active guy. But how does he maintain that gay porn body?

“I go to the gym an hour and a half per day, and I go to the sauna,” he says. “I try to do cardio, but not as often as I want. I also do my cardio when I fuck.”

Asked to name some of his favorite activities, Delgaty responds, “I like traveling, hanging out with friends… I love muay thai. All the sports I do are about fighting. I like to chill and learn Spanish. I like to spend time with my girlfriend!”

At this point in the interview, he pans his phone over to reveal that she’s been sitting next to him the whole time. Their “meet cute” turns out to be true Gen Z love story.

“She was working out in the gym in her building,” Delgaty explains. “I said I would feel really stupid if I didn’t ask her Instagram.”

Three years later, they actually started dating. They’ve been together ever since.

Can she spill the beans on anything we don’t know about Delgaty?

“He loves maple syrup,” she confides.

It’s true: he drinks it in his water.

“I’m really proud of maple syrup,” he agrees, clearly a patriotic Canadian.

She also shares some observations on the differences between “Malik Delgaty” and her boyfriend, Justin — Delgaty’s civilian name.

“Malik is super professional,” she reflects. “It’s just work. He goes and does what he needs to do. He’s not there for fun. It’s his job. Malik is also a bit more flashy than Justin.”

With regard to the man behind Malik, she offers: “Justin is fun, caring, loves animals. I’ve never seen anyone who loves as much as he does.”

Delgaty confesses to having three cats.

“I look a little scary, but I’m a sweetheart inside,” he shrugs. “I’m like a teddy bear. I just want to cuddle.”

Prodded for more secrets, the teddy bear shares, “I’m a fan of coffee and red wine and cheese. I have a cheese problem. I can eat a full wedge of cheese. It’s really easy.”

The helpful girlfriend adds, “He’s lactose intolerant.”

A Proper Person

What’s next for Delgaty?

“I’ve done over 200 shoots,” he notes. “So I’m trying to level up and do more stories. Just fucking to fuck is kind of boring. People have seen it. People like to see pounding, but they also like to see a story.”

He mentions having enjoyed some location shoots, including a ‘Mad Max’ send-up in the desert.

“That was a really great experience,” he recalls. “I also want to try some mainstream acting. I may start in Quebec because of my accent. I love action movies. And I already know martial arts! And I’m going to do some Twitch. I’m a gamer, I love Call of Duty and GTA.”

When speaking about the things that are most important to him, however, Delgaty keeps coming back to the people in his life. He speaks highly of them, not just as friends — though friendship is clearly something he values highly — but also as positive influences, role models and teachers, helping him become the person he wants to be.

“Most of my friends are older, between 35 and 65,” he says. “I just feel like they have more experience and they can show me more than younger people can. My friend Anthony is a photographer in Miami. David Cooley, the founder of The Abbey, the biggest gay club in West Hollywood, has taught me a lot about business and just being a proper person.

“It’s not easy to learn everything by yourself, without people to show you,” Delgaty adds. “It’s really hard because you’re learning from your mistakes.”

Finally, Delgaty shares some wisdom that seems to far exceed his 24 years.

“I’ve had people who just are really judgy and won’t stay around you because of what you do,” he says. “But it’s for the best because in the end, you don’t want them around. In the end, you can see who’s the real friend and who’s not.”
