Talk of the Town

If money and power are the backbone of the rich elite lifestyle, gossip is its lifeblood. If nobody is talking about you, you are nobody. The Humberts are the epitome of high society. Their adult children Patrick (Parker Ambrose) and Hannah (Melody Marks) are the quintessential examples of babies born with silver spoons in their mouths. They get everything they want, and they want for nothing. But when Patrick inexplicably falls for the aloof Ophelia Brooks (Liz Jordan), the whole of Palm Ridge starts talking. What could one of Palm Ridge's most eligible and wealthy young bachelors possibly see in a disgraced girl with a history of mental instability? And what will happen to the Humbert family legacy if this scandalous affair continues?
Writer Taylor Saracen and director Jessica Jasmin reunite for another feature with the family drama "Talk of the Town," from Wicked Pictures. This time, Liz takes the lead, and she's supported by a cast comprised of up-and-cummers and industry veterans. Saracen's writing style allows plenty of room for the performers to make the story their own, which I've always liked. And Jasmin understands how to coach strong performances out of her cast.
The tale opens by introducing us to the Humbert children and their friends Lauren Slausen (Coco Lovelock) and Harold (Josh Rivers). A tawdry game of Never-Have-I-Ever turns into a first-time threesome for the meek-minded Hannah. It's clear that this isn't Lauren's first rodeo as she devours Harold's cock with reckless abandon, and Hannah looks to her friend to show her the taboo ropes. Lauren's throat takes a thorough beating before she climbs atop Harold's meat so that she can ride him around the track. Her enthusiasm is a lesson for Hannah in how to be a proper slut, and the tiara-wearing princess turns out to be a quick and willing study. When it's her turn to take Harold for a ride, she copies Lauren's slutty approach and finds herself swallowed up by the excitement of lust and forbidden sex.
As Patrick and Ophelia's relationship grows, Patrick's mom (Kenzie Taylor) becomes more concerned. She doesn't trust Ophelia at all and begs her husband (Seth Gamble) to caution their son about getting involved with someone who doesn't fit in with their lifestyle. On the promise to talk to their son, Gamble is able to coax his wife out of her pajamas. These two have spectacular chemistry, and watching them fuck each other passionately is incredible.
As Christmas rolls around, Ophelia has become a fixture in the Humbert home, much to Kenzie's chagrin. But things take a turn when Patrick surprises everyone by proposing to Ophelia during dinner. When she rebuffs him, the Humbert household is thrown into chaos. With all of Palm Ridge aghast with the scandal, Patrick pivots to a public relationship with Lauren, and Ophelia retreats from the city. Mortified, Kenzie slips away to meet up with her boy toy Isiah Maxwell to blow off some steam and find out what rumors people are spreading. Isiah has been banging Kenzie secretly for years because unlike most people in Palm Ridge, he can keep a secret. This sex between Kenzie and Isiah is much more raw than the sex between Kenzie and Gamble.
The film culminates with a spontaneous encounter between Patrick and Ophelia. He's moping in what used to be their house when his former lover shows up unexpectedly in lingerie and nothing else. "Just because I don't want to marry you, doesn't mean I don't want to be with you." With that simple declaration, Ophelia shatters Patrick's sphere of self-pity — and the world belongs to the young couple once again.
The story ends with a twist that I won't spoil here, but the narrative climax will leave audiences breathless. "Talk of the Town" is a nice showcase for the young talent involved, giving them a chance to flex their thespian muscles in a true feature as opposed to the smaller narrative scenes that are so popular today.
Ophelia Brooks and Patrick Humbert are in their early twenties and have been dating since junior year in college. Ophelia is from the east coast but she came out to the west coast for school and decided to stay after graduation to be with Patrick. Patrick's family lives in an exclusive and affluent small town called Palm Ridge, where the family is very popular for being so well connected and wealthy. Gossip doesn't have far to travel in such close proximity so people know everything about everyone else's business. When something major goes down between Ophelia and Patrick, it doesn't take long for the news to ring from every corner of Palm Ridge. Things take a turn for the worse and everyone thinks they know the story, but they don't.
