Movixo Launches ‘Friendz’ Porn Network

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Online adult DVD rental service Movixo.com has launched Movixo Friendz, a new feature on its retail site that lets users rate and share reviews with other users in its network. Similar to network services like those found on mainstream rental sites such as Netflix and Blockbuster.com, the Friendz service seeks to introduce users to adult films they might not normally rent.

As part of the package, non-subscribers who are invited into the network by existing users receive a free two-week trial of the service.

“Friendz content can be accessed from a special section of the site, where users can view movies that people in their network have recently rated highly or hated,” Eli T., founder and CEO of Movixo, said. “Each rating has its own symbol of smiley faces, from a happy face to sad face. This content also is integrated into sections around the site, with ‘friendz’ ratings and ‘Quickie Reviews’ — short reviews viewable only by friendz — available on each movie’s description page.”

Eli T. said the idea to establish the networking service came about as the result of the incredible amount of adult films users have to choose from. Because there are so many porn flicks on the market, he said choosing which one to rent becomes increasingly difficult.

“A good recommendation from a friend always helps,” he said. “Like everything else in life, you always want to have an idea about something before you do it, buy it or get it. [The service] combines two activities that people love doing: networking with each other and watching porn movies.”

As an incentive to create a new network, Eli T. said members who keep five qualified friendz or more receive a free membership for life. Likening the incentive to a referral bonus, he said the service was built to be viral, allowing members to help the company acquire more subscribers with the same interest.

“If a friend invited you to a porn service that you knew nothing about you’ll be more likely to try it and give it a longer chance to prove itself than if you just saw an advertisement or you was doing an online search,” he said. “If your friendz likes a porn movie, that means something more than a recommendation from someone that you don't know.”
