GLENDALE, Calif. — Rob Black Productions would like to offers its congratulations to the cast and crew of “Taxi Driver: A XXX Parody,” which went home with the XRCO award for Best Parody (Drama).
“We also offer a huge congratulations to Rob Black, who (under the nom de plume General Stone) directed this instant XXX classic,” the company said.
Black spoke about the experience of making this film.
"It was a huge challenge to adapt such an iconic movie into an adult film,” he said.
“The whole time I was developing it people were saying it couldn't be done, so it's gratifying to see it getting recognized. Last week’s XRCO award, Tommy Pistol winning Best Actor at XBIZ, the AAAAA review in AVN, all of it lets me know this effort was appreciated."
Black also acknowledged the cast and crew of the film.
"I didn't make it alone, I had my great crew including the film's producer Tom Byron, who also edited and scored the movie (and got nominations and praise for his work as well). Not to mention the cast, including Tommy Pistol who gave an amazing performance in this amazing film."
When asked for his response, Pistol said, "The XRCO giving Rob Black the respect and win for Best Parody Drama is exactly what he deserves for ‘Taxi Driver XXX.’ It's what all the reviews have been saying all along. It's an amazing homage to the classic original, and I am extremely grateful to have been a part of it."
