“Since U.S. Internet penetration stands at 69.1 percent, that would have been over $2 million in sales if Iraq had the same usage as in North America,” PasswordByPhone’s Business Development Manager Marc Jarrett said.
While PasswordByPhone employs a “revert to English” feature, the stats indicate that the vast majority of those sales were conducted in the default arabic language.
“This dispells the myth that the majority of callers are horny soldiers,” Jarrett said. “But I think it is safe to assume that those customers that changed to English are our boys. This feature is also useful in capturing the traveling businessman and expatriate markets.”
