NEW YORK — Scheduled for Feb. 24-March 1, the 12th annual CineKink NYC will feature a specially curated program of films and videos that celebrate and explore a wide diversity of sexuality.
Billed as "the kinky film festival," with offerings drawn from both the independent cinema world and adult, works presented at CineKink NYC will range from “documentary to drama, comedy to experimental, slightly spicy to quite explicit —and everything in between.”
"As always, we’re looking to blur some boundaries and mix things up a bit,” said Lisa Vandever, director of CineKink. "People naturally fixate on the 'kink' in our name, but really, as long as it involves consenting adults, just about anything celebrating sex as a right of self expression is fair game for us."
In addition to screenings, plans for CineKink NYC also include a short film competition, audience choice awards, a "Bring It!"-style adult entertainment competition, panels and workshops, a kick-off gala and a “Afterglow" wrap party to round out the festivities.
A tour will follow on the heels of this flagship event of the CineKink annual season, showcasing audience favorites from the NYC festival selections, with CineKink visiting such cities as Austin, Boston, Chicago, DC, Las Vegas, L.A., Oakland, Portland, S.F. and Seattle over the years, and recent international stops including Berlin, Melbourne and Sydney.
A call for entries to submit works for CineKink/2015 runs until Dec. 12, 2014, and the festival line-up and schedule for CineKink NYC will be announced in January.
