ASACP Honors its Featured Sponsors for April, 2016

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its Featured Sponsors for the month of April, 2016.

ASACP provides online businesses with a Code of Ethics and market specific Best Practices, while its Restricted To Adults (RTA) website meta label helps prevent a minor’s access to adult-oriented websites and mobile apps. ASACP also operates an internationally recognized Child Exploitation Hotline, which has an enviable record of success in combating illegal sites.

According to ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning, ASACP’s Featured Sponsors make use of these tools and are at the pinnacle of corporate responsibility and self-regulation.

“The association’s Sponsor Recognition Program honors companies that have demonstrated a willingness to put child protection ahead of raw profits,” Henning explains. “These top-tier companies set worthy examples for their peers to follow, and demonstrate to legislators and other stakeholders that the adult industry is made up of caring professionals that are willing to do the right thing — something that is especially vital in a U.S. Presidential election year.”

Honoring this month’s Featured Sponsors, ASACP recognizes CAM4, Gamma Entertainment and PornDoe, for their continued generous support of the association in its never ending fight to protect children.

CAM4
A recently upgraded ASACP Title Sponsor whose support extends back to 2011, CAM4 is vigilant about online child protection, due to its operation of live webcam / video chat sites, where minors not only attempt to access these sites, but by misrepresenting their age, attempt to become paid performers. The global nature of this business (with varying documentation in different jurisdictions) and the physical separation between the company and its contractors, make it a daunting proposition to ensure that performers, let alone viewers, are of a legal age.

Because of these challenges, ASACP offers a stringent set of Best Practices tailored to the specific needs of live cam site operators, which CAM4 benefits from. CAM4 takes additional measures such as the use of the RTA label to block children from its site; illustrating a caring, proactive approach to keeping children safe.

These steps also include a warning page overlay that notifies viewers that no CP is present on the site and that anyone posting or seeking underage material would be reported to authorities, with the company aiding in the prosecution of these users — sending a clear message that it will not tolerate children accessing or being displayed on the CAM4 site.

Gamma Entertainment
An ASACP Corporate Sponsor that has supported the association since 2006, Montreal-based Gamma Entertainment illustrates the commitment that the adult entertainment industry’s most prominent players make towards keeping children out of and away from adult entertainment.

According to the company, Gamma has grown from a home-based business with a single website to become a major force in the adult industry, boasting nearly 60 full time employees. Gamma attributes its growth to the use of cutting edge technology and adherence to four basic principles: honesty, respect, reliability, and an up-front way of doing business that has been the bedrock of its success.

Gamma demonstrates its leadership by using the RTA website meta-label to protect its sites and by donating rack space for two ASACP-owned servers located in the Gamma data center — providing useful material and technical support, as well as financial aid for the association.

PornDoe
An ASACP Corporate Sponsor since 2015 , PornDoe is an adult oriented video tube site that provides free content. As such, it is on the frontline of the need for online child protection — a responsibility that the company takes seriously.

PornDoe makes use of the RTA meta label to prevent unauthorized access to its flagship site by minors, and takes extra steps to ensure that its site only displays legal content.

“Even more than being just legal, the most important role of the adult industry is to protect children from a problem that is still haunting us today: child pornography and abuse,” says Project Manager Nelson Do Nascimento. “PornDoe only works with adult companies that share this important point of view, cooperating against this very serious matter.”

It is another example of how the adult industry works to end the scourge of child exploitation.

“As ASACP continues to cope with a declining budget and increased responsibilities, it is vital that we receive industry support if we are to carry on our mission,” Henning explains. “The generosity of our sponsors, and the ‘over and above’ support of our Featured Sponsors, make our non-profit operation possible, and fuel the success of our efforts.”
