LOS ANGELES — Sex educator and Wicked Pictures contract performer jessica drake will be featured on two panel discussions at CatalystCon West, which will begin this Friday, Sept. 16 and continue through Sunday, Sept. 18 at the Westin Los Angeles Airport Hotel. Drake will be discussing slut shaming and sexual wellness.
The adult superstar, who is known for the hit instructional series, “Jessica Drake’s Guide to Wicked Sex,” will participate in “Slut-Shaming Begins at Home: Internalized Erotophobia,” at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18. The panel will examine some of the ways many have witnessed, experienced and dealt with slut shaming in their lives.
“I’m very proud to be a part of an important discussion about the devastating effects of slut shaming on our nation,” drake said. “I firmly believe that the more we discuss this topic and raise awareness, the more we are able to further open the lines of communication and educate everyone about its harmful impact on society.”
On Sunday at 11:30 a.m. — almost immediately following the slut shaming panel — drake will participate in the panel, “Partners in Pleasure: Building Bridges Between Sex-Positive Retailers and Educators,” which will also feature Wicked Pictures contract performer Asa Akira. “This panel will explore ways sex educators and retailers, writers and clinicians, all within the sex-positive community, can work together to improve the sexual health and wellness of the population,” a spokesperson said.
In addition to the panels, drake will be an active participant in CatalystCon’s Pleasure Products Symposium from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15 as well as the Sex Worker Summit, which she organized and will host from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16.
